    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Back door needs a repair, small gap was observed along the edges of the door, when closed. It was observed that the door was half open at the time of inspection. Few flies were noted in the facility.Staff was informed to keep the backdoor closed when not required. Repair the weatherstripping.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • Preparation cooler at the front was measured at 12C (the cooler doors were closed). Observation discussed with the supervisor, temp. logs were checked, last temperature measurement taken 2-3 hours before were 4C. Supervisor onsite called the tech. to repair the cooler. Meanwhile, ice immersion method will be used to control the temp. of food at 4C or below.

      • The dishwasher was not functional. Please manually wash and sanitize dishes.

      • The display cabinet was open on the back. Please ensure the cabinet can be closed to prevent insects from getting in.

      • Food items in the walk-in cooler were at ~8C. The operator put buckets of ice in the cooler. Please ensure all coolers can reach and maintain 4C or lower.
    • 15. Is the facility free of a pest infestation?
      • A fly infestation was identified, especially in the handsink area in the front. The manager contacted a licensed pest control operator during inspection and asked for a visit.
