      • Observation:
      • Accumulated food and debris found on the floor, along the back walls, of equipment; tables, shelving racks, and sinks. This will attract pests.
      • Corrective Action(s):
      • Ensure staff are reaching to the back walls when sweeping under equipment, tables, shelving racks and sinks. Supervisors & managers shall check that staff have cleaned correctly, and it not, educate them on what the expectations are.

      • 308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
      • Observation:
      • 1) The faucet, connected to the dishwasher spray nozzle, is constantly dripping. This creates a damp condition that will breed flies.
      • 2) The drain pipe below the dishwasher spray nozzle is blocked and water is unable to drain. This creates a damp condition that will breed flies.
      • 3) The dishwasher spray nozzle arm anchor is no longer attached to the wall. The spray arm will fall off.
      • 4) The upright ss fridge (#1), storing sauces, had a temperature of 48F. This is too warm and food will spoil. Staff explained the cooler was recently serviced as it was not maintaining <40F.
      • Corrective Action(s):
      • 1) Hire a certified plumber to fix the faucet so it no longer drips.
      • 2) Immediately stop using the dishwasher rinse sink. Hire a certified plumber to unclog the drain to water can continuously drain.
      • 3) Hire a certified plumber to affix the dishwasher spray nozzle anchor permanently to the wall.
      • **Correction date: Jan. 27/26**
      • 4) Immediately move all sauces into the working walk-in-cooler and call a company to service and fix the upright ss cooler (#1) so it can maintain <40F at all times. Do not use the cooler until it can maintain <40F at all times. During the inspection, staff moved all items out of cooler into the walk-in-cooler.

    • 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION):
      • Take-out cup lids are placed in a bin which customers are now placing on their own drinks. Customers are unsure which lid fits on their cup and are handling multiple lids and putting them back into the bin. The lids are deemed "dirty" once a customer has touched it, and shall be discarded. Staff explained that they have ordered a lid dispensing unit to prevent this from happening.
      • Corrective Action(s):
      • Have staff ask customers if they would like a lid and have them place it on the cup for the customer, UNTIL the lid dispensing unit has been installed. Inform all staff of the temporary process.

      • Observation:
      • Found a few mice droppings under sinks and along the base of walls in the back chemical storage areas. Mice and their droppings contain pathogens.
      • Corrective Action(s):
      • Immediately clean up the droppings, wash and sanitize all surfaces that came into contact with the droppings. Increase the frequency 'hard-to-reach' areas (along the base of all walls; under equipment and storage racks; under staff lockers; etc.) are cleaned.

      • 308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
      • Observation:
      • The following pieces of equipment were found to be broken and/or not working as per manufacturer's specification. Food could be contaminated with small pieces of plastic, equipment is over worked, and/or it will attract and breed pests.
      • 1) The 3-comp dishwashing faucet is constantly dripping cold water. The constantly dripping water will create a water source for mice and flies.
      • 2) The u/c cooler, storing bottled drinks, door is not closing tightly. There is a gap that is letting cold air continuously leak out.
      • 3) The automatic hot drink dispenser (French Vanilla, hot chocolate, etc) in the drive-thru area, has a broken drink tray rack being held together with zap straps.
      • Corrective Action(s):
      • 1) Immediately call a person to repair or replace the faucet so the hot and cold water can be fully turned on and off.
      • 2) Repair or replace the door so that it closes tightly and seals in cold air.
      • 3) Immediately discard the broken drink tray rack, and order a new one. At time of inspection, the rack was discarded.

    • 205 - Cold potentially hazardous food stored/displayed above 4 °C. [s. 14(2)]
      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Eggs found in the "raw, shelled egg cooler" were 8C, and the cooler air temperature was 12C. Bacteria in the eggs will multiply at 8C and customers could become ill. Manager explained that the eggs were placed in the cooler 1 hour ago.
      • Corrective Action(s): Immediately move the eggs to the walk-in-cooler and inform staff to NOT store any eggs in the "raw, shelled egg cooler" at it is not able to keep the raw eggs below 4C. During the inspection, the manager moved the eggs to the walk-in-cooler.
      • Violation Score: 5
    • 306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
      • Observation: Accumulation of food debris and food stains on door handles; exterior & interior surfaces of doors; metal corner plates; and on walls & floors beneath and behind equipment. This will attract and harbor pests.
      • Corrective Action(s): Increase the frequency these areas are washed with hot water and soap during the day (4 times a day) to remove food debris and stains.

      • Observation: The "raw, shell egg cooler" was 12C and the cooler fan was not moving. Bacteria will multiply in perishable foods at this temperature and customers could become ill eating the food. The manager was aware the cooler was not working and is waiting for the repair company to arrive to fix it.
      • Corrective Action(s): Immediately place a sign on the cooler, informing staff not to store any food in the cooler. Call a company to repair the cooler, so it can store food below 4C at all times. Inform staff NOT to place any food in the cooler until it is fixed.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The handwashing sink by the "mobile pick-up" areas has no paper towel and soap. This MUST be a handwashing sink, not a dump sink, as the other designated handwashing sink (opposite end of premises) is too far away to encourage staff to wash their hands.
      • Corrective Action(s): Immediately fill the paper towels and liquid soap dispensers so staff can wash their hands frequently and properly. During the inspection, this was corrected.

    • 306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
      • Observation: 1) The donut making and glazing area surfaces (floors, walls, equipment, counter, etc.) have accumulated food debris on it. This will attract pests.
      • 2) The floor under the dry storage racks (in the back room) have accumulated food debris and dirt, especially along the base walls. Staff are not getting brooms and mops to the back of walls, this will attract pests.
      • Corrective Action(s): 1) Do a thorough cleaning of the donut making and glazing area. Remind staff to use soapy water to remove sugar, grease and food debris. Then use sanitizer to kill germs. Increase the frequency this area is cleaned during the day.

      • 2) Clean the floor all the way to the back walls, under all the dry storage shelving racks. Remind staff to look under the racks to ensure they are getting all the dirt and food debris.
