      • Few flies (4-5) were observed inside the restaurant.Please ensure there are no flies inside the restaurant.

      • Time stamp of keeping bacon at room temperature was not in place. This was corrected during inspection.
    • 10. Are food temperatures during storage and processing being controlled to maximize food safety?
      • Hazardous foods were being held around 21C in a refrigerator drawer under the sandwich prep counter. Sliced cheese was discarded at time of inspection. Do not use this refrigerator unless it can maintain food at 4C or less.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • REPEAT VIOLATION: Back door has a gap to the outside. The back door is missing a metal piece to seal the door properly. Manager is aware of the issue and a new piece for the door is on order.

      • Refrigerator drawer under the sandwich prep counter was measured at 21C. This is not working properly to store perishable food items.

      • PHI observed Tim bits taken from the outdoor walk-in freezer were contaminated by the food handler. Tim bits were discarded at time of inspection.
    • 07. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
      • Food handler went outside to get food product out of the outdoor walk-in freezer and did so in a manner that caused cross contamination. PHI discarded the food products at the time of inspection.
    • 20. Do food handlers at the facility have adequate food safety training?
      • A food handler employed at this facility does not appear to understand the importance of food safety. PHI would like all staff to take certified food handler training so all staff are aware of the requirements.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • 1. The detached outdoor cooler was not consistently maintaining power. The power is supplied through an extension cord running from the front of the building, along the drive-through, and across the drive-through lane. The cord is driven over by vehicles, requiring it to be replaced 3 to 4 times per month. Ensure that power to the cooler is consistently maintained.2. The walk-in freezer inside the facility has not been operational for months. Ensure the freezer is repaired and fully functional to serve as a proper food storage unit.

      • 1. The detached outdoor cooler was not consistently maintaining power. The power is supplied through an extension cord running from the front of the building, along the drive-through, and across the drive-through lane. The cord is driven over by vehicles, requiring it to be replaced 3 to 4 times per month. Ensure that power to the cooler is consistently maintained.2. The walk-in freezer inside the facility has not been operational for months. Ensure the freezer is repaired and fully functional to serve as a proper food storage unit.

      • A bucket containing QUAT sanitizer solution was measured at 50 ppm and was replaced. The new solution was measured at 200 ppm.
    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • The hand washing sink in the front area was not stocked with paper towels. The operators promptly restocked the dispenser.

      • Pest control records will be emailed.

      • The waste bins by the Tim Horton's walk-in freezer are overflowing with waste and debris. This was a previous issue. Ensure the waste bins are emptied and photos are emailed to Inspector. Recommend having more frequent service to this area to remove waste/garbage.

    • 14. Does the facility have an adequate supply of potable hot and cold running water and is the water sampled at required intervals?
      • The cistern was professionally cleaned and disinfected. The cistern has been repaired to avoid contamination to the water supply. The cistern was filled with potable water from an AHS approved water hauler truck. Invoices/information was emailed to Inspector with work completed. A bacteriological water sample has been submitted to an accredited lab for analysis.

      • The property owner can not verify that the water used for drinking and food preparation is from a potable water source.Cistern lid is not properly sealed and secured to protect water from contamination.

      • The communal waste bins are overfilled with refuse and garbage bags are stored on the ground outside of the waste bins.

      • Handwashing sink in the back food preparation area is out of order currently. Ensure this handwashing sink is repaired by the noted compliance date. Operators are using the two handwashing stations in the front preparation area until this is fixed.

      • Facility ran out of water (cistern). A potable water hauling truck came shortly after this occurred and filled the cistern with potable water. Operators emailed PHI video of all faucets with running water
