- 11. Are there adequate and properly operating dish washing facilities to effectively clean and sanitize equipment and utensils (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
- Dishwasher was turned on by PHI at time of inspection. When run, the machine started leaking from the base of the dishwasher's door and a lot of water flowed on to the floor.A staff member stated the dishes that were drying on the counter had been washed in the 1 compartment sink. Please note, the facility does not have adequate sinks for manual dishwashing as that requires at least a 2-compartment sink for washing/rinsing on one side and sanitizing on the other. The dishwasher must be repaired, and food offerings should be reduced until that is done.

- Back wall of cupboard beside dish sanitizer appears to have water damage and the shelf in this cupboard has fallen down.Please repair this area OR remove all food items and do not use this cupboard.

- An un-labelled spray bottle containing QUATS disinfectant solution was found hanging on the shelf.To avoid misidentification, chemicals, cleansers and similar agents stored in containers should be properly labelled in a way that identifies its content.The kitchen staff was told to label the spray bottle, stating clearly its content.
- 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
- The kitchen had two handwash sinks. However, the soap dispenser on one of the sinks was empty while the other sink was filled with already washed glass wares that have been left to air dry.To prevent food contamination and spread of germs, handwashing is very important in the kitchen especially during food preparation. Accessibility of handwash sink in the kitchen encourages good handwash practice.The kitchen staff was informed to notify maintenance to repair and refill the soap dispenser and was also advised never to obstruct handwash sink in the kitchen.
