    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Due to the previous entry/harborage of pigeons in the awning (particularly on the south side of the building), the owner subsequently hired a pest control company to remove all dead pigeons/bird droppings and then clean and disinfect these areas.Although it is now sealed from potential re-entry of pigeons, it was mutually agreed on that the existing awning on the south side of the hotel building is not maintained in a good condition and cosmetically is unsatisfactory.Subsequently, the owner will move forward and replace all awnings on the hotel building and have this task completed by no later than August 31, 2026.Once completed, please reach out to our Department so a final reinspection can be carried out to ensure the work is completed to our satisfaction.

    • 11. Are there adequate and properly operating dish washing facilities to effectively clean and sanitize equipment and utensils (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
      • OBSERVATIONS/NOTES REGARDING NEW GLASSWASHER IN LOUNGE:1) Since it is a 220/240 V, a new breaker will need to be installed on the electrical panel.2) Method of sanitizing could not be determined - there is also no manufacturing name on the exterior of the machine.3) Chemical supplies (e.g. - detergent and rinsing agent) are not on-site and is purchased through the Wholesaler in Edmonton.Owner has stated that the above will be addressed later today and have subsequently scheduled the inspection for tomorrow (May 27, 2026) at 1030 hours.

      • At the time of inspection, the lounge facility did not have any supplies of chlorine test strip papers to measure the concentration of chlorine (e.g. - bleach) for the glasswasher.Encouraged Staff to purchase these required test strip papers on-line (e.g. - Amazon).Informed Staff that the brand name our Department utilizes is "Hydrion".
