      • Clean and disinfect or sterilize all reusable equipment/instruments between each use.
      • Clean instruments/equipment with a brush using water and detergent in a manner to reduce splashing (e.g. under water) or using an ultrasonic cleaning device.
      • Thoroughly clean and disinfect non-critical class instruments/equipment with intermediate level disinfectant.
    • The operator shall ensure all sharps are single-use only and disposed of safely in a sharps container. (O.Reg. 136/18 (10)(6-8).
      • Ensure all sharps are sterile and single-use.
      • Discard sharps into a sharps container immediately after use.
      • Ensure all sharps containers are compliant with the standards of the Canadian Standards Association.
      • Dispose of all sharps as per the requirements of the Environmental Protection Act, its regulations, and any other applicable law of Ontario.

    • Every product used when providing a personal service is stored and dispensed in a manner which prevents contamination. (O.Reg. 136/18; 11(1)).
      • Leftover creams, lubricants and waxes must be discarded. Do not use on another client.
      • Dispense creams and lubricants onto a clean, single-use applicator.
      • Do not double dip. Use a new applicator each time product is taken from the container.
    • Ensure all reusable equipment is cleaned and disinfected or sterilized as often as necessary to prevent disease transmission (O.Reg. 136/18; Sec.10(4)).
      • All reusable equipment must be cleaned and disinfected or sterilized between each use.
      • Non-critical class instrument/equipment must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected with low level disinfectant.
