- 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
- 1) Observed both exit doors (e.g. - near main staff washroom and also in meat processing room in the back) that have large gaps (e.g. - side of door and bottom corner of door). For the latter, replacing the existing metal plate flashing on the bottom of the door may be required to close off the gap. For the other door, it appears the actual door or door frame may require repair to ensure the door is tight fitting with the door frame.Regardless, the above requires follow-up to prevent the potential entry of rodents from outside. Finally, installation of metal rodent traps in these two areas should be carried out for pest control.

- 1) Observed several burnt out light tubes in the facility including both staff washrooms, meat processing area in the back, middle walk-in cooler and also in the store front area. Please make inventory of all light tubes requiring replacement and which is required to provide more adequate lighting to easier facilitate cleaning.2) Observed two (2) floor drains in the meat processing room in the back which do not currently have tight fitting lids/covers and which should be installed to prevent potential tripping hazards. Will inquire with the owners if these type of covers can be purchased and installed.
