  1. Routine Inspection

    2 infractions

    • 302 - Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
      • Observation: Popcorn machine is covered in old popcorn and a build up of food debris. Refrigerator shelves have a build up of debris. (Public Health Significance): Build up of food debris is unsanitary and can attract pests into the facility. Pests carry disease that can cause serious illnesses.
      • Corrective Action: Clean and sanitize the popcorn machine so no food debris is left inside. Clean and sanitize the refrigerator shelves.
    • 307 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not of suitable design/material [s. 16; s. 19]
      • Observation: (1) Top draw to the right of the stoves is missing a piece. (Public Health Significance): Complete drawers (having a whole drawer) allows for items to be stored properly within and does not allow them to roll away onto the floor creating a tripping hazard and non sanitized items. (2) Surfaces are not sufficiently sealed or durable to facilitate regular cleaning and sanitizing. Wooden roller carts are made of wood that the sealant is starting to break down. (Public Health Significance): Materials like raw wood will absorb juices and harbor and allow disease causing bacteria to grow. Proper materials and finishing is required to ensure adequate cleaning and sanitizing.
      • Corrective Action: (1) Although the drawer is not in current use, replace the bottom of the drawer so the whole bottom is covered. (2) Refinish surfaces to provide a durable easy to clean surface.
