    • 10. Are food temperatures during storage and processing being controlled to maximize food safety?
      • There are two refrigerators used for the school food programs. One refrigerator is used for the breakfast program, and the other is for the lunch program. The breakfast program refrigerator was measured at a temperature of 18C. The freezer temperature was -22C. The refrigerator temperature dial was on the coldest setting, indicating that the refrigerator is not working properly. Whole, uncut apples and unopened individual juice boxes were stored in the refrigerator, as well as two packages of muffins. The muffins were previously frozen and were moved to the refrigerator to defrost. Because the muffins require refrigeration, they were moved to the lunch program refrigerator, which was in good working condition, maintaining a temperature of 1C. Please do not use the breakfast program refrigerator until it is either repaired or replaced and can maintain a temperature at or below 4C.
