    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • No soap was provided in the handwashing sink in the waxing treatment room.- Ensure soap is provided
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Tools were not rinsed with water after soaking in CS20 per manufacturer instructions. - The tools must be rinsed with water before drying and storing in sanitary manner.The pedicure jet and sink was not disinfected after each use. - Ensure the parts and the sink are disinfected with minimum a low level disinfectant with DIN number, ie RTU available onsite.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this personal services facility (Critical)?
      • Alcohol and chocolate were served onsite without AGLC license and food handling permit.- Stop serving immediately.

    • 02. Has the operator notified the RHA of the existence of a personal service business, including contact and location information, as well as all personal services currently offered or new personal services that will be offered for facilities and/or special events?
      • The facility is offering permanent makeup without notifying AHS. Please contact AHS-EPH about the new services via: https://ephisahs.microsoftcrmportals.com/create-case-psn/ service and schedule an inspection.
    • 06. Do operators and personal services workers comply with the Personal Services Regulation and Standards and do they have the skills and knowledge to perform their duties in a safe and sanitary manner?
      • Staff have inadequate knowledge regarding tools reprocessing. Staff informed that semi critical tools are cleaned with low level disinfectant and disinfected with an alcohol. Please ensure tools are cleaned/disinfected appropriately:- Clean tools using water and detergent. Rinse and dry thoroughly. - Pour high level disinfectant (example: PREempt™ CS20) directly into soaking tray. Do not dilute.- Fully immerse tools in high level disinfectant. RINSE, DRY & STORE- Rinse tools with water and dry manually using clean cloth or disposable towel. Store in a clean container marked “DISINFECTED”
    • 13. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Critical)?
      • Used nail files, sanding bands, buffers are stored in the manicure table drawers. Please ensure single-use items such as nail files, sanding bands that cannot be cleaned properly are discarded after use.
    • 15. Is reusable equipment handled and stored properly (Critical)?
      • Dirty tools are stored in the manicure drawer and dirty containers. Please ensure dirty tools are stored separately from the clean tools to prevent cross-contamination.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Expired Pre-empt CS20 onsite. Please ensure the high level disinfectant is not expired. All semi critical tools must be disinfected with a high level disinfectant such as pre-empt CS20.
