    • 302 - Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) No sanitizer detected glass dish washer. Glass dishwasher must provide a minimum concentration of 50 parts per million (ppm) as required to effectively sanitize dishware.
      • Corrective Action: Operator repaired glass dishwasher during time of inspection and glass dishwasher was at 50 ppm.

    • 306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
      • Observation: The small food preparation area where the hot dog roller and deep-fat fryers are located is not equipped with mechanical ventilation that exhausts to the outside. This allows for the accumulation of smoke, grease, water vapour and objectionable odours from cooking.
      • Corrective Action: Mechanical ventilation that exhausts to the outside must be installed and domestic equipment may be acceptable, provided it can move a sufficient volume of air to prevent the accumulation of smoke, grease, water vapour and objectionable odours from cooking. However, a Building Inspector with the District of Kitimat should first be contacted to discuss this as there may be requirements under the Building Code for ventilation and there may be other safety requirements to take into consideration under other codes and legislation.
