    • 10. Are food temperatures during storage and processing being controlled to maximize food safety?
      • Pre-packaged dressings such as dairy creamers stored in a cooler were measured at 15°C (60°F). This is a repeated violation. - The supervisor transferred the dressings that require refrigeration to another cooler that maintained a satisfactory temperature during the inspection.- Please investigate the cooler and ensure it maintains 4°C (40°F) or colder before storing high-risk foods.
    • 18. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this food facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Observed a minor leak from the ceiling above the combo/breakfast menu display board, dripping onto the top of the salad cooler (which is currently empty). The supervisor reported that the leak began on June 24. Buckets have been placed on the top of the cooler to collect the dripping water. The leak appears to originate from the cooling system above the ceiling. - The supervisor reported that a work order has been submitted, and maintenance is scheduled for June 26.

      • There were no paper towels at the staff washroom hand sink; the paper towel dispenser was empty. Supervisor reported the dispenser was running out of battery.- Please provide paper towels in a proper dispenser.

      • There was a minimal sewer smell in the dishwashing area.- The supervisor reported the smell was coming from the floor drain. The supervisor began pouring degreaser chemical and hot water at the time of inspection.Please investigate the source of the smell and ensure the facility is maintained in sanitary manner. Ensure the grease trap is cleaned regularly as scheduled.

Supervisor advised the dishwasher went faulty on February 01, 2024 and that dishes were washed and sanitized manually in the 3-compartment sink, and that the service provider was contacted to fix the dishwasher. Feb 9: Manager advised problem of the dishwasher was identified and repair work was scheduled for Feb 16.

      • Walk-in cooler fans were observed to be dusty. Please clean. Feb 9: Noted cleaning was done after the previous inspection, but not all fans were cleaned.

      • Observed 3 flies flying around the ice machine. Please ensure that the facility is free from pests including flies. - Please ensure the facility is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition and the back door is kept closed at all times to prevent breeding/entry of flies.

      • Observed the paper towel dispenser at the staff washroom handwashing sink was not working because batteris were dead. Manager replaced the dead batteries with new batteries - corrected at the time of inspection.

      • The following areas/equipment were noted to be not maintained in a clean and sanitary condition: ** under the dishwashing sinks ** Dust pans beside the ice machine ** the ladder beside the ice machine Please clean and disinfect.

      • Observed that one of the three washrooms was out of order due the handwashing sink being detached from the wall. Manager advised it is scheduled for maintenance.
