      • Bleach solution was prepared and measured at 100ppm during the inspection.Make sure to test the solution on routine basis to ensure proper sanitization and sanitizer concentration.
    • 10. Are food temperatures during storage and processing being controlled to maximize food safety?
      • All the cooling and freezing units require the functional thermometer to monitor the temperature on routine basis.It is recommended to maintain the temperature logs.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Facility do their own pest control however pest control records were not maintained.Pest control checklist will be provided for the reference.Make sure to maintain the pest control records on monthly basis.
    • 19. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?
      • 1) Food handling Permit posted on public display, was not valid.2) Facility operator discussed the requirements for Minimal Food Handling.Facility has three compartment sink, make sure to dedicate one sink for handwashing. Facility is eligible and approved for Minimal Food Handling.Upgraded Permit will be issued during the next billing cycle.

    • 12. Are there adequate and properly operating dish washing facilities to effectively clean and sanitize equipment and utensils (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • No chlorine solution was available during inspection and no test strips were available to check the strength of the sanitizer.
    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • No soap was available at the sink.Handwash station must have adequate supplies for handwashing.
    • 14. Does the facility have an adequate supply of potable hot and cold running water and is the water sampled at required intervals?
      • The convenience store is on well water.Water sample is not being sampled at regular intervals. Food establishments on a private water supply, must submit water samples to the Provincial Laboratory on a regular basis/as per mandated frequency.The operator is aware about the drinking water samples for bacteriological analysis. Operator updated that he will be submitting water samples on this coming Monday (Sept 11)

      • Pest control records were not available on site. AHS pest control checklist was provided to the operator. Please ensure this checklist is completed on a monthly basis and is available on site.
