Inspection summary
Woking Dragon Chop Suey House (Langley) has been inspected 12 times by Fraser Health Authority since February 27, 2020. The most recent inspection, on September 11, 2026, found no infractions.
4 of 12 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there were 3 inspections with 3 infractions recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Pests, Handwashing and staff hygiene and Cleaning and sanitizing.
The number of infractions per inspection has stayed roughly the same over time.
What these findings mean
Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.
PestsHigher risk
Signs of mice, rats, cockroaches or flies, or gaps and clutter that let them get in or hide. Pests carry bacteria and can contaminate food and surfaces, so evidence of activity is treated seriously and usually triggers a follow-up visit.
Recorded 6 times across 6 separate inspections, most recently on August 18, 2026. For example:
304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
Handwashing and staff hygieneHigher risk
Hands are the main way germs like norovirus move from people to food. Inspectors look for stocked, accessible handwashing sinks, staff washing hands when required, hair restraints, and sick employees being kept away from food. Gaps here can spread illness quickly.
Recorded 3 times across 3 separate inspections, most recently on August 18, 2026. For example:
401 - Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk
Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.
Recorded 2 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on March 10, 2023. For example:
302 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
Food temperature controlHigher risk
Bacteria multiply fastest between about 4 °C and 60 °C (40 °F to 140 °F). Inspectors check that cold food stays cold, hot food stays hot, cooked food is cooled quickly, and that staff have accurate thermometers. Temperature problems are one of the most common causes of food poisoning, so these are treated as critical findings.
Recorded once on May 21, 2025. For example:
205 - Cold potentially hazardous food stored/displayed above 4 °C. [s. 14(2)]
Protecting food from contaminationHigher risk
This covers how food is stored, prepared and displayed: raw meat kept away from ready-to-eat food, food covered and stored off the floor, and nothing dripping or splashing into it. Cross-contamination from raw to cooked food is a direct route for salmonella and E. coli.
Recorded once on November 4, 2022. For example:
209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]

- Routine Inspection
2 infractions
- 401 - Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
- Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Designated handsink at dish pit not stocked with soap or paper towels. Our agreement is to always have this sink stocked and clean for handwashing only.
- Corrective Action(s): Make sure this sink is properly stocked as discussed.
- Violation Score: 5
- 304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
- Observation: Fruit/drain fly population has again reached significant numbers. Observed in multiple areas of kitchen including the back door, dish pit and double prep sink areas. Many resting on higher walls and ceiling and boxes on shelves. Could not identify any easily observable areas of stagnant water or decaying food debris, except in the floor drains. Likely also breeding in the dishwasher filter and sink drains and grease trap.
- Corrective Action(s): The floor drains need to be flushed and cleaned and treated with foaming drain cleaner that was previously used. Once this initial cleaning and chemical application is complete re-apply dy due to the breeding cyle of the flies until the population is under control. Also recommend applying treatment to all sink drains daily until cycle is broken.
- I will follow up in two weeks to see improvements.
- Violation Score: 15
- 401 - Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
- Routine Inspection
1 infraction
- 304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
- Observation: Minor fruit fly population still observed, but much improved from previous inspections.
- Some fly poop specs noted on ceiling and walls around dish pit. Generally, the floor and general area of dish pit is clean and dry. *Note bus pan below drain may also be a souce of breeding and should be dealt with daily.
- Corrective Action(s): Continue to tackle the floor drains as this is the likely main source of breeding. Periodically flush the drain with forced water and apply chemicals to deter flies from breeding.

- 205 - Cold potentially hazardous food stored/displayed above 4 °C. [s. 14(2)]
- Observation: Under counter cooler at deep fry station measured at 15 C. This was flagged as a unit not properly functioning and service work with replacement motor on order. However, food is still stored in unit. Chicken balls, uncooked noodles, tofu all discarded.
- Corrective Action(s): Do not use this unit until fixed. This will require less deep fried product kept at room temperature for use, AND, all left over room temperature controlled food must be discarded after 2 hrs. Plan for those volumes. Access more food directly from walk-in cooler.
- Follow up inspection required. see date on report.
- Violation Score: 5
- 304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
- Observation: Mouse activity and fruit/drain fly activity noted in the kitchen. Flies are minor, mouse activity possibly moderate, but based on dropping accumulations.
- Corrective Action(s): COntinue to clean up droppings on daily basis and follow recommendations of pest control.
- Violation Score: 9
- 306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
- Observation: Many corners of kitchen observed with accumulations of mouse droppings, and to a lessor degree food debris. Moderate volumes of mouse droppings noted at dishpit and around delivery boxes at entrance to kitchen from dining room.
- Water ponding around floor of dishpit also noted.
- *Leaking sink drain water intercepted by bus pans, but bus pans not cleaned daily allowing ponding water to accumulate.
- Corrective Action(s): It is important to clean up food debris and mouse droppings throughout kitchen area so pest control can assess and strategized best practices to control mouse movements. Make sure staff are performing proper and complete cleaning. This may require the movement and replacement of mouse traps placed by pest control.
- Review at follow up inspection.

- 205 - Cold potentially hazardous food stored/displayed above 4 °C. [s. 14(2)]
- Routine Inspection
1 infraction
- 304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
- Observation: Fly issue has sdignificantly improved, but flies noted on ceiling and floor in area of dishpit floor drains. New Pest Control contract in place and staff seem to be working hard to eliminate the problem.
- Corrective Action(s): Continue with regular (daily) cleaning, and discuss other possible remedies with Pest Control.
- **Corrective and scheduled cleaning of the floor drains will be very difficult without floor drain grate removal. If your practice is to cover the floor drains with mats during operational hours, then it is reasonable to cut the screws to allow easy access for scheduled and daily cleaning.

- 401 - Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
- Observation: Kitchen lacks a dedicated handwash station. Staff are supposed to use prep sinks as handwash stations, but stations are not utilized and are not stocked with either soap or paper towels. Prep sinks used for food or other at time of inspection.
- Corrective Action(s): Immediatley supply these shared stations with soap and paper towels.
- Long-term plan to install a proper and dedicated hand sink in the kitchen as discussed. Six months.
- Follow up inspection required (see report for date).
- Violation Score: 5
- 304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
- Observation: A) Mouse activity noted in the dining area and kitchen. Droppings and chewed insulation observed. No signs of rat activity. DIscussed with operator. Rodent issue has been evident since nearby construction began. Pest COntrol contract in place and frequency adjusted from monthly to bi-weekly until issue tackled. In addition to current trapping activities next step is to begin aggressive blocking access points at external doors and internal walls at plumbing electrical conduits.
- *Target front glasswasher area, kitchen at double sinks and washroom plumbing.
- B) Fruit and drain fly problem (significant) in kitchen area by dishwasher. Observed coming out of floor drain in area. ALso observed coming out of grease trap at gap in lid.
- Corrective Action(s): Continue to work with PCO technician. Make sure food sources eliminated. CLean up hard to reach areas of kitchen.
- For drain fly issue the floor drains must be cleaned and chemicals applied to reduce biomat in the floor drains on a daily basis until breeding cycle is broken. I don't think adequate cleaning can be achieved without taking off the floor grates. Operator to use spray foam in floor drains to help reduce availble food in the drains. Grease trap also an issue. Find a way to eliminate the gap so the flies can't access. Silicone seal if necessary.
- Provide updates to this office until problem is solved.

- 306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
- Observation: Some secondary contact surfaces and/or door handles to coolers/freezers etc. observed with build up of fingerprints and food debris. Staff not cleaning these contact points frequently enough. Most of the primary contact points substantially clean.
- Corrective Action(s): Make sure staff spend time during shift cleaning areas they may have contaminated (i.e. with dirty or food laiden hands), such as doors, drawers and bins.
- Violation Score: 3
- 401 - Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]

1 infraction
- 302 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
- Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): a) Bleach solution in spray bottles in kitchen very strong. Whitening test strips.
- b) Glasswasher not measuring any residual chlorine - feed container liquid looked clear instead of off yellow. Manager noted another container of table disinfectant (clear) stored with sodium hypochlorite. Possibly mixed up.
- Corrective Action(s): a) Find a mechanism to better dose bleach into spray bottles to ensure 10 to 200 ppm residual. Recommend using a small liquid soap dispenser, labelled properly as a tool to more accurately dose spray bottles (i.e. 1 pump may equal 1/2 to 1 tsp bleach).
- b) Make sure all staff are refilling the chlorine feed container with correct chemical. As discussed with manager, recommend keeping the table disinfectant in separate area away from bar chemicals.
