- Alberta Health Services (AHS) has not been notified, for opening of the personal service business at the said location.Make sure to fill the personal services notification and submit it to AHS.
- 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
- Facility-specific written procedures were not observed for post-service care for personal services that involve puncturing the skin or mucous membraneClient skin preparation, cleansing and antiseptic.Written procedures for accidental cuts and punctures.Make sure that all the written procedures are available for the facility.
- 12. Are personal services workers at the facility maintaining client records and where applicable, sterility documentation corresponding to that client?
- Clients' records were not being adequately maintained at the facility.Make sure that client records indicate client name, contact information of client, date(s) of personal service, description of personal service, and name of personal services worker who provided the personal service. Also make sure that sterility assurance document from the pre-packaged critical equipment is attached to client record and information.Client record documents must be retained for minimum of two years.

- Some of the visibly dirty single use equipment were observed stored with clean items.Staff was directed to discard the single use products after each use.It was corrected during the inspection.
- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- It was observed that facility is not maintaining the records for High level Disinfectant (HLD) Test strips for HLD were not available.Make sure that logs are maintained for HLD logs and test strips are available.
- 25. Are the equipment manufacturer's instructions for use of specific equipment available and followed?
- During the inspection it was observed that facility is providing skin tag removal services.The manual and written procedures were not available for using the skin tag machine.
- 31. Are sinks accessible and used appropriately for the personal services provided?
- It was observed that semi critical tools re-processing sink is also being used for hand washing.Discussed dedicating sink for the cleaning and disinfecting of semi-critical tools.
