Beaver Lake Lodge

So I flew from Northern BC to look at some cutblocks i had a hand in promoting natural regeneration 45 years ago. Wanted to see how they turned out. Also I knew the owner back then, a Mr Sexsmith. Nice man. In fact I laid out a road behind the site so traffic would not go right through their campsite.||Well when I arrived there a locked gate, so I thought I would tell why I wanted through to drive as close as possible. A met a fellow and he said no there was equipment there and they do not want people there.|I am 80 and to his surprise I said I will then have to walk all the way in. Probably 3 to 5 miles rough guess.|Well there was no equipment and when I came out the gate was open and a sign said open at 7:30 am and I was after that. It was a public road before and likely still is. ||I first thought when I drove there I would like to take my wife and stay but not a chance now. On the positive side I made the walk even though a little sore and looking forward to ones that will not only let me in but offer me coffee

I’ll start with the location, absolutely stunning. The sunrises, sunsets and view of the lake were all incredible, likely one of the most beautiful places I’ve been. If you’re looking to fish, relax or go out on the water, Beaver Lake has it all. Alongside the location, the service at the on-resort store was great. Staff were super friendly, made great coffees and answered any questions we had about the resort. Moving on from the good parts to our cabin, cabin 6. Many dishes in the cupboards were unclean, the coffee percolator was mouldy, the tap water had floating debris and the upstairs mattress was disgusting. While I can stand washing some dishes and having to bring filtered water; I can’t forget that mattress, it was just nasty, the pictures don’t show how gross it really was. Overall, everything other than the cabin we stayed in was lovely. I had a great time with my girlfriend & family and the natural beauty of this place was breathtaking. If the cabin wasn’t how it was, I’d give this place 5 stars easily.

This will be our 6th year in a row, and we've already booked ahead so we don't miss out on next year. We love coming here with a group of friends, and find the hosts so helpful and accompanying. They're always so responsive whenever we reach out throughout the year with various questions and are super understanding when someone has to update their booking. Our cabin is always so clean, and if we ever need anything it's always taken care of in a timely manner.

Beautiful lake with a dock and beach, loads of both cabins and campsites that are relatively spacious and a camp store that sells a mean cup of coffee and other assorted things like eggs, milk or bread. Flushable washrooms with hot water and a shower, a huge playground in the middle along with an additional area I didn't even get to check out. My only complaint was getting a fire pit with no air hole, but looking into other sites showed that we were just unlucky and got the only one. Plan to be back soon!

The host was great to deal with personable and professional. Very straightforward was helpful in time of need. Was also kind, compassionate and considerate. Great people if you want to stay at the cabins regionally priced great atmosphere highly recommend.

I was actually stoked to try here and as I never had yet and after Dee Lake was so awful long ago with smelly cabins and a gross smelling couch that smelled of death! So I wanted to try Beaver on a suggest. It was so hard to connect to just book and get details! Many days each time waiting from the last time I had written and one time a whole week. Then I thought I had seen 160 a night after the shoulder season and he wanted to still bill me 200 a night for Sept 16! Then he just cancelled me so easily and was only wondering why I got hiked up! What a waste of a month's time trying to book! I could have concentrated on elsewhere. Even trying to get him on the phone was painful. Elsewhere I look and this guy needs to go back to good customer service school.

We booked a camp spot here for a week in July and it was absolutely perfect! The location is amazing, amenities are plenty and I was especially thankful for the hot showers! This is the cleanest campground I’ve ever been to, with super friendly staff who work hard to keep things looking and running smoothly! We especially loved our waffle breakfast in the mornings …..as I did not bring cookware due to the nature of our stay . The lake was pristine and although I heard some complaining about the loons…..I absolutely loved falling asleep to the sound of them late at night!
