- F2.6 Are the premises designed and equipped to ensure safe food handling?
- Observation(s): Follow-up inspection confirms a backflow preventer has not yet been installed on the new faucet installed at the mop sink. Should the attached hose sit in the mop sink without a correct air gap (or installation of a backflow prevention device), this is considered a cross-connection. If there's a sewer backup into the mop sink and negative pressure at the tap (water system), this allows contaminated sewer water to siphon into the indoor water lines and water distribution system, thereby contaminating potable drinking water. EHO advised the Assistant Manager, who removed the hose from the mop sink to provide a temporary air gap. *Retain a qualified professional to install an anti-siphon vacuum breaker threaded onto the faucet, or install a faucet that has a "bell" vacuum breaker as part of the design. EHO advised the Assistant Manager to promptly contact the Area Supervisor for correction.

- F2.5 Are the premises and equipment properly maintained and operated in a sanitary manner (i.e. ongoing maintenance)?

This is due for cleaning & sanitizing, including any other doors and handles (receiving, washroom, equipment). -Maintain with a routine cleaning schedule as per your Sanitation Plan. *The rear storage area is orderly and continues to be maintained. Good.
- F2.5B The premises must be properly constructed and maintained in good, clean and sanitary condition.
- F2.6 Are the premises designed and equipped to ensure safe food handling?
- Observation(s): Observed a new faucet installed at the mop sink. However, there is no vacuum breaker installed for backflow prevention should a hose be attached to the faucet. *Require a qualified professional to install an anti-siphon vacuum breaker on the faucet, or install a faucet that has a vacuum breaker as part of the design.
- F3.1 Does the operator have a valid operating permit or approval to operate?
- Observation(s): Valid fiscal decal is posted, but the 'Permit To Operate' reissued November 2022 (to be posted for patrons' view) is misplaced again. A new 'Permit To Operate' will be reprinted, signed and delivered to the facility for a follow-up inspection to ensure it's posted.

- F2.2 Are proper pest control measures in place on the premises?
- Observation(s): *Rear outdoor garbage bin compound requires clean-up of litter and removal of various items no longer required to operate the facility. No pests noted at time of inspection.
- F2.2A The premises must be maintained to prevent harbouring (sheltering) or breeding of pests.
- F2.3 Are food contact surfaces, utensils and equipment washed and sanitized in a manner that removes/prevents contamination?
- Observation(s): *Quat container is out of sanitizing solution for the dispenser into the 3rd compartment sink, and there's no extra bottle available. Advised to immediately obtain an extra bottle from the 7-Eleven on 32nd Street. Alternatively use your household bleach if a delay in obtaining more quat sanitizer. *Ensure all handles of equipment doors are routinely cleaned and sanitized as there appears to be some build-up in crevices.
- F2.3D Sanitizer solution must be available and kept at the correct levels for adequate sanitizing action.
- F2.5 Are the premises and equipment properly maintained and operated in a sanitary manner (i.e. ongoing maintenance)?
- Observation(s): Front store is very well maintained. *However, the rear storage room area is due for thorough cleaning under shelving and along floor coving. Construction should be improved (ceiling tiles replaced, wall and flooring repair where required). Maintain scheduled cleaning as per Corporate's Sanitation-Maintenance Plan. *Rear outdoor garbage bin compound requires clean-up of litter and removal of items no longer required to operate the facility.
- F2.5B The premises must be properly constructed and maintained in good, clean and sanitary condition.

- F2.5 Are the premises and equipment properly maintained and operated in a sanitary manner (i.e. ongoing maintenance)?
- Observation(s): F2.5J *Rear storage room area is due for thorough cleaning. Maintain scheduled cleaning as per Corporate's Sanitation-Maintenance Plan. *Reduce Pressure Backflow Prevention Device should be added at the ware washing sink faucet to prevent cross-connection, or alternatively cut the black hose attached to the tap to ensure an air-gap above the sill of the mop sink so it's not directly into the mop sink.
- F2.5 Are the premises and equipment properly maintained and operated in a sanitary manner (i.e. ongoing maintenance)?

- F1.2 - Are proper hot holding procedures followed?
- Observation(s): Temperature good but require an NSF hot-hold dial thermometer installed in the hot-hold unit.
- F1.2B - Accurate thermometers must be provided to monitor equipment.

- Observation(s): Temperatures good. Monitoring logs maintained but somewhat sporadic. Require an NSF thermometer installed in the condiment cooler (True) across from hot-hold oven.
- F1.4B - Accurate thermometers must be provided to monitor equipment.
- F3.4 - Are the premises, equipment and utensils designed and maintained to ensure safe and sanitary food handling?
- Observation(s): Install missing backflow preventer at janitor sink (beside warewashing sink). Was too busy to go out and needed red bull. Ordered on skip, ordered a bunch of peach red bull as it’s my favourite but had a feeling they might not have them all in stock so in the notes I included other flavours they could replace them with if out of stock. They followed all my substitute requests for the flavours that were out of stock and also gave a cookie in my order. Very good service at this location!

I was in December 21st, 2025 around 9 PM staff member paid absolutely no Attention to the customers in the store. As he was too busy sitting on the food preparation table next to the coffee machine looking at his phone. I wonder if staff are trained to realize its unsanitary. To put someone's butt where food preparation happens.

Lazy useless staff. 7/11 should have some basic standards to be followed! like who is making shure they restock the condiments, nacho cheese and chili sauce? it seems to be way cheaper and more profitable for them to just simply not put anything out for customers! Way to save money and work less 7/11 staff!

Note: This review was originally posted in April but at the wrong 7/11. This has now been corrected. The person working behind the counter from the Philippines was very friendly. There were six slush flavours, but two were out of order. A large slush is an even $3.00 after tax. Store was clean. Be careful walking in the surrounding neighbourhood after dark. I have had some interesting experiences over the years.

Never seen such a dirty 7/11. The washroom was nasty. At least put in the effort to clean. At least once a day ?

This location in particular stands out for being the biggest store in Vernon. And I don't know whats happening with the general standards of "customer service" across the board but this location has the staff that is unhelpful & unfriendly. I'm not looking to make friends but a job that requires you to engage with people even for a short span of time, should only appeal to those who are willing to smile & greet the customers with a simple hello.....I find it very rude when made to feel as an inconvenience when purchasing from any business.

This is a 7-11 (Petro Canada) a smaller one but still everything you would expect from a 7-11. Just one word of caution you need a key for the indoor bathroom. They say this is to keep it clean. Not a fact as the bathroom was not well kept; even essentials like tp and hand soap, they should probably skip the keys as it would be easier to keep it clean and stocked without it.

This place is the absolute worse. Employees that do nothing to help customers and steal your points from you. Products are constantly priced wrong and they blame the customer for it. They allow homeless vagrants to camp outside doing drugs …

Poor supplies. Two days in a row no lids for drinks. 7/11 has a national reputation to be a one stop shop. Wings tasty. Food taste good. General customer service is good. Damn straws n lids these days.
