      • A mirror and a portrait with reflective properties were present in the laser treatment room.Remove mirrors and any other reflective surfaces from the laser room to prevent unintended laser beam reflection and ensure operator and client safety.

      • A pack of expired needles was observed in the storage cabinet.Remove and properly dispose of all expired needles. Ensure that only sterile, unexpired needles are stored and used for client services and implement a system to routinely check and document expiry dates.

      • Sterility assurance documentation was not being documented with corresponding client record.- Maintain sterility assurance documentation for all pre-purchased sterile items with the corresponding client record to ensure traceability

      • The product “MCCM Exosome PDRN” was observed in the facility, the operator informed the inspector that the product is administered via microneedling. The manufacturer’s information lists milk extract without specifying its origin, and the packaging includes the claim “Exosome PDRN is a cellular bioremodeling agent widely used to stimulate cell repair and regeneration of the skin layers.” Under Health Canada’s guidance, products making such claims do not qualify as cosmetics. The product also does not display a Drug Identification Number (DIN) or Natural Product Number (NPN)and there has not been evaluated for safety. Discontinue use of MCCM Exosome PDRN immediately until manufacturer obtains proper Health Canada authorization (DIN or NPN).
