What these findings mean
Health authorities word their findings differently, so we group them by what they mean for the people in care. Higher-risk findings are the ones that could directly make someone sick, and they matter more here because young children, older adults and people who are unwell are more vulnerable to infection.

- C10.2 - Are children supervised, and are employee to children ratios maintained?
- Observation(s): There was an ECE Assistant in charge of the children in the downstairs Multi-age program. This employee works two days per week regularly. The licensee corrected this during the inspection by coming out of the office and onto the floor supervising the children as the qualified ECE. Licensee expressed interest in applying for a staffing exemption for this staff member.

- C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?
- Observation(s): Licensing discussed the licensee's system of ensuring child records are completed and updated. Licensee stated the facility recently reviewed and updated the files in September. Licensing reviewed files/emergency cards, licensing found a date of birth was incorrect on a child's file. Licensee cross-reference registration form and fixed the date of birth at time of inspection. Licensing requested all child records be reviewed to ensure all information is correct on emergency cards.
- C4.1E - Keep current records for each child identifying personal information; 57( 1 )(a)(b)( 2 )(a,b,d,e,g,h,j,k)
- C5.1 - Are healthy eating and nutritional habits promoted and practiced?
- Observation(s): Upon arrival there were four children in the gated area and two care providers standing beside the creek outside the facility supervising all the children. Two children in the gated area were eating food from their lunch kits, while another two children were playing in that area as well. Although the staff were able to see all children in the gated area, the distance was far enough away that there could be an issue if a child was choking. Licensing reminded the licensee that when children are eating there should be close supervision to prevent injury.
