What these findings mean
Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.
Protecting food from contaminationHigher risk
This covers how food is stored, prepared and displayed: raw meat kept away from ready-to-eat food, food covered and stored off the floor, and nothing dripping or splashing into it. Cross-contamination from raw to cooked food is a direct route for salmonella and E. coli.
Recorded 3 times on May 8, 2026. For example:
Food Not Protected - General
Building, plumbing and upkeepLower risk
Floors, walls and ceilings must be smooth and clean, with working lighting, ventilation, plumbing, hot and cold water, and washrooms. These are rarely an immediate food-safety risk on their own, but persistent problems can lead to pest or sanitation issues.
Recorded once on May 8, 2026. For example:
Improper Construction / Maintenance of Establishment
Other findingsLower risk
Findings that do not fit the categories above, such as follow-ups that confirm an earlier violation was corrected, or requirements specific to this type of facility.
Recorded once on May 8, 2026. For example:
Improper Sanitary Facilities

1 inspection
- Routine
5 infractions
- Food Not Protected - General
- Couple food containers were cracked and potentially melted. Cracks and crevices formed can trap food debris, making it difficult to remove, and pose cross contamination risks.
- Staff discarded implicated food equipment. * Keep uncracked food equipment.
- Food Not Protected - General
- Multiple containers in the walk-in cooler had no lids/food grade covering. Debris from overhead shelves can drop into uncovered foods - presenting contamination risks.
- Staff located lids and cling wrap to cover the exposed foods. * Ensure that stored potentially hazardous foods are covered at all times with food grade covering.
- Food Not Protected - General
- Walk-in freezer is still leaking from the condenser/fan - which has resulted in ice formation on top of food container lids. This can pose contamination risks to uncovered foods.
- Continue repair to walk-in freezer to mitigate dripping risks.
- Improper Sanitary Facilities
- Prep station hand sink was obstructed by buckets in-front and had no paper towels.
- Staff member retrieved a paper towel and stationed it on the overhead shelf. * Remove the buckets and ensure that hand washing stations are unobstructed, and fully equipped with hot/cold running water, liquid soap, and single-use hand drying.
- Improper Construction / Maintenance of Establishment
- Back door was propped open, with a mesh curtain covering. However, gaps were still visible underneath the door - allowing for the potential entry of rodents.
- Implement means to prevent the possible entry of rodents. * Especially important during summer months. Comments Routine inspection conducted. Action items: - Repair the staff washroom towel dispenser as it's jammed. - Store measuring cups with handles sticking up. - Floor tiles are missing in the dishwashing area. * Can lead to potential pooling of water - and absorbance of moisture. - Ensure foods are stored off ground - to limit possible pest access. Comments: - Overall sanitation of the facility is satisfactory. - 2-compartment sink equipped with hot/cold running water and 2x sink stoppers. - Chlorine and quat test strips available onsite. * Ensure staff are regularly using to test concentration. - Surface sanitizer pails measured 200ppm quats residuals. Staff mentioned the solution are replaced every 2 hours. - Ice machine maintained in sanitary condition. No visible signs of growth. - Ventilation hood was last cleaned this month (May). - High temperature dishwasher registered 80.2°C after final rinse. - Hollandaise sauce maintained in hot holding units - measuring above 60°C. - All cooler units registered at or below 4°C. - All freezer units registered at or below -18°C. - Soup/gravy hot holding units registered 65.9°C (above 60°C minimum). - Temperature logs are regularly maintained. * Logs for March and April were missing. - Permit to operate posted in a visible location. - Staff onsite with valid FOODSAFE certification. - No signs of pest activity onsite.
