    • 17. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Critical)?
      • When asked to explain toy sanitizing procedures, staff indicated that after cleaning, the toys are sanitized using a spray bottle. Many of the toys (e.g. plastic horse) has several bends and curves, making it difficult to verify if toys are properly sanitized. Additionally, staff create a pile the toys in the sink and spray them down, creating additional complications whether the sanitizer will reach all parts of the toy.The Inspector directed the operators to switch to submersing toys in a sanitizer solution for 2 minutes. This will allow a more consistent method to ensure all parts of a toy get sanitized and will be more time efficient. This concern is considered corrected during the inspection, unless demonstrated otherwise.
    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • In the washroom between rooms JK1B & C, the centre tap's maximum temperature at the tap spiked from 33.6C to 53.6C for approximately 20 seconds; this concern occurred twice while testing. There may be an issue with the mixing valve improperly distributing water.REQUIREMENT: Investigate and determine the cause of the temperature spikes. Make any necessary repairs to stabilize the temperature.
