    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • Hand sanitizer was not available at the piercing station.-Please provide appropriate alcohol-based hand sanitizer with above 60% alcohol and DIN or NPN at the indicated station.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Alcohol was being used to clean and sanitize piercing gun.-Please procure/use low-level disinfectants with Health Canada's DIN such as Oxivir or cavicide solution/wipes.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • Tinting and waxing stations, piercing areas including handwashing sink were all very dirty during the inspection.-Please clean and disinfect the indicated areas and stations immediately after use to ensure sanitary conditions and prevent spread of infection.
    • 29. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained to allow for the safe and sanitary provision of personal services (Non-Critical)?
      • Piercing surface was covered with dirty towels.-Please remove the indicated towels and ensure all surfaces are smooth, non-absorbent and easy to clean.The indicated towels were removed during the inspection.

      • 1. Surface and equipment disinfectant, preempt RTU, had expired since Sept. 2022 and was being diluted.-Please do not use expired products to ensure effectiveness and ensure to follow manufacturer's instruction. Procure and use effective preempt RTU.2. Barbicide solution was observed overly diluted in many salon stations. -Please follow manufacturer's instruction to ensure properly cleaning and disinfection of salon tools.
