      • -No written procedures available. Ensure written procedures are developed.
    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • - There was no paper towel at the handwashing sink in the wax room. Ensure handwashing supplies are available and staff are washing their hands prior to each service.-The sink in the waxing room was blocked. Ensure it is accessible for handwashing.
    • 13. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Critical)?
      • -Used single use spoolies were observed in clean storage areas. Ensure all single use items are disposed of immediately after each use.

      • -The glass cup used to mix lash/brow tint was visibly stained. Ensure this cup is cleaned and disinfected after each use or switch to disposable cups.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • -Pre-empt RTU was named as the product that was being used for disinfection of re-useable tools. It had expired in September 2022.-No high level disinfectant was available for use on re-useable semi-critical tools. Ensure a high level disinfectant is available. Note that high level disinfectants need to be tested using appropriate test strips daily and those results recorded.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • This facility was not maintained in a clean and organized state:- The single use covering for the wax table was visibly dirty. Staff member indicated it had been dropped on the floor. Ensure only clean covers are used for clients.-The staff member on-site indicated that the cloth cover on the wax table is sprayed with alcohol. This does not clean or disinfect the cover. Ensure cloth covers are laundered after each use.-There were trays of food in the main service area. This is not a food facility. Ensure food for staff is kept in the staff room only.-The wax room was very cluttered and used for purposes other than waxing. There was a desk, plush toys, food, pet food, clothing, shoes and many other items not required for personal services kept in this room. These are not compatible activities and result in the room being hard to clean. Please remove unnecessary clutter and non-compatible activities.

      • -The sink in the main service area was used for both tool reprocessing and handwashing. Ensure the sink used for reprocessing is not used for anything else.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this personal services facility (Critical)?
      • -The fire exit was completely blocked by boxes. Please remove to allow access to the exit.

      • -There was make-up being kept on the cart used for waxing but no make-up services are offered at this facility. Please remove all make-up from client service areas.
