Inspection summary
Dairy Queen #27421 Glenmore has been inspected 7 times by Interior Health Authority since July 22, 2016. The most recent inspection, on June 8, 2026, found no infractions.
3 of 7 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there was 1 inspection with 0 infractions recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Cleaning and sanitizing, Food temperature control and Protecting food from contamination.
Recent inspections have recorded more infractions than earlier ones, so it is worth reading the latest reports closely.
What these findings mean
Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.
Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk
Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.
Recorded 3 times across 3 separate inspections, most recently on November 9, 2023. For example:
3 Are food contact surfaces, utensils and equipment washed and sanitized in a manner that removes/prevents contamination?
Food temperature controlHigher risk
Bacteria multiply fastest between about 4 °C and 60 °C (40 °F to 140 °F). Inspectors check that cold food stays cold, hot food stays hot, cooked food is cooled quickly, and that staff have accurate thermometers. Temperature problems are one of the most common causes of food poisoning, so these are treated as critical findings.
Recorded 2 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on May 4, 2021. For example:
2 Are proper temperature controls maintained to ensure safe storage and display of foods?
Protecting food from contaminationHigher risk
This covers how food is stored, prepared and displayed: raw meat kept away from ready-to-eat food, food covered and stored off the floor, and nothing dripping or splashing into it. Cross-contamination from raw to cooked food is a direct route for salmonella and E. coli.
Recorded 2 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on May 4, 2021. For example:
5 Are the premises and equipment properly maintained and operated in a sanitary manner (i.e. ongoing maintenance)?
Handwashing and staff hygieneHigher risk
Hands are the main way germs like norovirus move from people to food. Inspectors look for stocked, accessible handwashing sinks, staff washing hands when required, hair restraints, and sick employees being kept away from food. Gaps here can spread illness quickly.
Recorded once on July 19, 2017. For example:
5 - Are there handwashing stations available and properly supplied?
Permits, records and postingLower risk
Operating permits, required signage, written procedures and logs. These findings are administrative: the documentation was missing or out of date at the time of inspection.
Recorded once on November 9, 2023. For example:
1 Does the operator have a valid operating permit or approval to operate?

Recently ordered a DQ custom cake online. Unfortunately we never received an order confirmation email which I thought was odd. I explained what happened in store and the manager was very accommodating. He was able to print picture on a cake right there on the spot. Thank you so much for the great customer service!

I went to this DQ with my family, including my elderly grandmother, and we had a wonderful meal! The team were very accommodating to her disabilities. There’s also a beautiful view from the windows to boot.

This location is great! Really fast service, knowledgeable staff, and it always looks clean when I go in. Drive thru is usually very fast. It is a strange setup though, difficult if you have a bigger truck.

Always a classic place to go either in the summer time or even winter. First time we went here was to try their Flamethrower burger. Pretty good burger too . My favorite is the Blizzard. Love their ice cream cakes too. This location has a nice patio in the front entrance. Staff are always nice and greet you with a smile.

Each time I’ve come here lately has not been great. The blizzards seem runnier than usual and they seem to forget things more. Had to go alll the way back to get my girls blizzard in her happy meal. Sure I forgot too at the time but it’s not my job to have to remember really.
