      • -The operator has not notified EPH of the business and activities that the business currently offers. Please submit all applicable information to the RHA as soon as possible
    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • -Written procedures were not available for this facility. Please ensure written procedures are developed for: Preparation of Skin and Client Care.
    • 04. Are business-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices in a mobile business?
      • -Written procedures were not available for this facility. Please ensure written procedures are developed for: Hand Hygiene, Supplies and Equipment, Single Use Equipment, Reprocessing Re-usable Equipment, Cleaning and Disinfection and Storage at the Base of Operations.
    • 13. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Critical)?
      • -A pedicure basin meant for home use was being used. This basin cannot be easily cleaned and disinfected and therefore should not be used. The use of an easy to clean basin, such as a stainless steel bowl is recommended.
    • 14. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Non-Critical)?
      • - Porous and uncleanable equipment was not clean and in good condition at the point-of-use. Ensure porous and uncleanable equipment that does not contact mucous membrane or broken/punctured skin is only re-used if it is in good condition and steps are taken to remove visible contamination and is treated with a product suitable to reduce the number of microorganisms. (ex. Nail files, wooden foot files)- Porous and uncleanable equipment was not being treated with a suitable product. Antiseptic products (such as hydrogen peroxide, 70% alcohol or detergent/soap) can be used to treat porous/uncleanable equipment such as nail files and wooden foot files. These items should not be soaked and must be disposed of after showing any signs of wear.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • - Semi-critical equipment is not being adequately cleaned and disinfected. (ex. Metal tools used for manicures and pedicures. Ensure semi-critical must be cleaned and disinfected using, at a minimum, a high-level disinfectant.-Ensure the high level disinfectant is tested daily using the test strips specified by the disinfectant manufacturer. Ensure records are kept of: test dates, whether the solution passed/failed, when the disinfectant was changed and the worker’s initials who performed the activity.*The Lumin autoclave is not an acceptable way to disinfect re-useable tools. It can be used after a high level disinfectant, as part of reprocessing.
    • 24. Are waste sharps disposed of properly?
      • -There was no suitable puncture resistant container available for the disposal of sharps. Please ensure an appropriate sharps container is available.
