Inspection summary

Donair Dude - Richmond has been inspected 4 times by Vancouver Coastal Health since August 29, 2023. The most recent inspection, on January 20, 2026, found no infractions.

1 of 4 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there were 2 inspections with 2 infractions recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Food temperature control and Cleaning and sanitizing.

The number of infractions per inspection has stayed roughly the same over time.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.

  • Food temperature controlHigher risk

Bacteria multiply fastest between about 4 °C and 60 °C (40 °F to 140 °F). Inspectors check that cold food stays cold, hot food stays hot, cooked food is cooled quickly, and that staff have accurate thermometers. Temperature problems are one of the most common causes of food poisoning, so these are treated as critical findings.

Recorded 2 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on January 9, 2026. For example: Potentially hazardous food is cooled in a manner that makes it safe to eat.

  • Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk

Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.

Recorded once on January 9, 2026. For example: All equipment, food contact surfaces, utensils, dishes & glasses used on the premises are washed and sanitized in a manner that removes contamination.

  • Permits, records and postingLower risk

Operating permits, required signage, written procedures and logs. These findings are administrative: the documentation was missing or out of date at the time of inspection.

Recorded 2 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on November 6, 2024. For example: The Permit to Operate a food service establishment is valid and is posted in a conspicuous location.

This donair chain offers a tasty and well-prepared donair made with fresh ingredients, which really shows in both flavor and texture. The meat was well-seasoned, the vegetables were crisp, and everything tasted freshly assembled rather than rushed. What sets this place apart from many typical donair shops is the broader menu. In addition to donairs, they also offer fries and poutine, giving customers more choices than the usual donair-only options and making it easier to satisfy different cravings in one stop. The restaurant itself is clean and modern, though it has only a limited number of tables and seats, clearly catering more toward take-out customers. Dine-in is possible, but seating can fill up quickly. One downside is that the prices are slightly on the higher side compared to traditional donair spots. That said, the freshness of the ingredients and the expanded menu may justify the cost for some customers. Overall, it’s a solid option for a quick, fresh donair with more variety than average, especially if you’re nearby and looking for a convenient take-out meal.

I ordered late night, the pickles added to the falafel are super sour, too much salt. I had to remove them by hand, perhaps you need to taste your food before serving. If you ask me will I order from here probably, but please ensure to taste before serving. Otherwise all is good

Food quality is average or below average, taste is not bad but the thing is Kofte sanwdwich had 25% filled with Kofte and the rest was just salad! Like you are eating a salad sandwich! For 15$ + tax I also tried lamb doner, same issue like they need to add 2-3 times the amount of donair. Overall experience was not terrible, but I won’t come again.

I come to this location from west side of Vancouver coz I was mesmerized by their customer service. And I eat 3 times a week for last 2 years . Loyal customer. BUT last night I got a chicken platter with extra chicken . And for veggies only cucumber and pineapple. Nothing else for 26$ . And same order for past 2 years never changed . But today a lady working there questioned me about the quantity of veggies. I told her I take same plate for the last 2 years and no one questioned me ever. I told her I don’t mind paying but she was hell rude. And when I told her that I won’t come here again and she laughed and said sure. Good night. Just coz of a rude employee an owner lost a loyal customer. Good luck and good bye

We drop by around 19:00 pm and there are some customers waiting to pick up what they ordered. There were some small tables to eat in but seems like this places are mainly for take out. We ordered donair wraps chicken and beef. Also platter with lamb. They all tests good! Guys in the restaurants were nice. Good to have some vegetables with nice Mediterranean tasted dishes. Platter was quite big and saved with some rice. Good value.
