Inspection summary
Hampton Inn - Vancouver Airport has been inspected 9 times by Vancouver Coastal Health since March 23, 2016. The most recent inspection, on March 25, 2026, recorded 1 infraction.
2 of 9 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there was 1 inspection with 1 infraction recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Cleaning and sanitizing, Handwashing and staff hygiene and Pests.
Recent inspections have recorded fewer infractions than earlier ones, so the record is improving.
What these findings mean
Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.
Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk
Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.
Recorded 6 times across 5 separate inspections, most recently on March 25, 2026. For example:
All equipment, food contact surfaces, utensils, dishes & glasses used on the premises are washed and sanitized in a manner that removes contamination.
Handwashing and staff hygieneHigher risk
Hands are the main way germs like norovirus move from people to food. Inspectors look for stocked, accessible handwashing sinks, staff washing hands when required, hair restraints, and sick employees being kept away from food. Gaps here can spread illness quickly.
Recorded 2 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on February 17, 2023. For example:
Each employee demonstrates good personal hygiene and washes their hands as often as necessary to prevent the contamination of food.
PestsHigher risk
Signs of mice, rats, cockroaches or flies, or gaps and clutter that let them get in or hide. Pests carry bacteria and can contaminate food and surfaces, so evidence of activity is treated seriously and usually triggers a follow-up visit.
Recorded once on February 28, 2024. For example:
The premises is free of pests.
Protecting food from contaminationHigher risk
This covers how food is stored, prepared and displayed: raw meat kept away from ready-to-eat food, food covered and stored off the floor, and nothing dripping or splashing into it. Cross-contamination from raw to cooked food is a direct route for salmonella and E. coli.
Recorded once on November 10, 2021. For example:
Food is handled in a sanitary manner and is not subject to contamination.
Food temperature controlHigher risk
Bacteria multiply fastest between about 4 °C and 60 °C (40 °F to 140 °F). Inspectors check that cold food stays cold, hot food stays hot, cooked food is cooled quickly, and that staff have accurate thermometers. Temperature problems are one of the most common causes of food poisoning, so these are treated as critical findings.
Recorded once on March 6, 2018. For example:
Potentially hazardous food is at a refrigerated temperature that keeps it safe to eat.

Great little hotel! I stayed here for one night and had a very pleasant experience. The room was clean, and the bathroom was modern, well-maintained, and fully stocked with essentials. On-site parking was convenient, and the train station was within walking distance, making it easy to get around. The airport shuttle service runs every 30 minutes to and from the airport, which was very convenient. The complimentary breakfast offered a reasonable selection and was a nice way to start the day. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay close to the airport.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it.||The location is outstanding. It is only about a 5-minute walk to the Bridgeport SkyTrain Station, there is a bus stop right outside the hotel, and a large supermarket is conveniently located across the street. Getting around Vancouver and Richmond was extremely easy.||The complimentary 14-seat airport shuttle was reliable and well organized. Both the airport pick-up and drop-off were punctual, making our travel completely stress-free.||Breakfast exceeded our expectations. It offered a good selection of Western-style hot and cold items, and everything was fresh and well prepared.||The facilities and overall service were exactly what we have come to expect from a Hilton property—professional, comfortable, and consistently excellent.||Although we are Hilton Diamond members, we booked a non-refundable reservation through a third-party platform because hotels during the FIFA World Cup period were almost fully booked four months in advance, and we wanted to secure our itinerary. Normally, third-party reservations are not eligible for elite member benefits. However, after communicating with the hotel before our arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to receive an early check-in.||A very special thank you goes to Front Desk Supervisor Tammy Fisher. She was exceptionally warm, friendly, professional, and genuinely caring throughout our stay. At check-out, she also made special arrangements to help us store our luggage. This was incredibly helpful because we planned to use this hotel as our base while traveling to several destinations and returning multiple times during our trip. Being able to leave some of our belongings at the hotel greatly simplified our travel plans, and we truly appreciated her kindness and flexibility.||We sincerely thank Tammy and the entire hotel team for making our stay so enjoyable. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Vancouver area. Hilton elite members should also consider staying here—even if booking through a third-party platform—because the hotel genuinely values its guests and provides outstanding hospitality.

The hotel is undergoing extensive renovation and the reception is a make shift location. Evening staff was not helpful. Amenities including slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste were not available. Room was not well kept. Carpet was old & we felt itchy after walking on it. There are stains on the wall & toilet. Overall cleaning POOR !Breakfast was acceptable but the breakfast area was very small (in front of the make shift reception) and hotel guests have to wait for tables. After seated, you have to walk to & from the kitchen to get food & drinks through a passage with constructionThe overall experience felt unbelievably short of our expectations of the Hilton brand and the price we are paying through Trip.comPlease review & improve to prevent similar unpleasant experiences to your customers.

We recently stayed there in a pawn arrival. Found several bugs in our room on the second floor. We were too tired to deal with it that night so when we get up in the morning we asked to be moved for our second night. No I'm sorry. No that's unfortunate. Just oh okay that must be the landscape. It took all day to move us to another room. Luckily we had plans to be out cuz we had to pack up everything and be out of the room while we were gone. The second room was much better but the staff just never really apologized or acted like it was anything unusual. So disappointed and actually have started to see this trend in other Hamptons. The morning breakfast service was solid and the location was good but the customer service and the willingness to make you feel like what you paid for over $300 was the going rate, was okay to have bugs and ants in the room!?!

I had an amazing stay here! The staff was very kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout my visit. The location is perfect—everything you need is nearby, which made my trip very convenient and stress-free. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and I felt right at home. This was my second stay (March 17–18), and I enjoyed it so much that I’ve already booked another visit for April 17th. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to coming back again!
