    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • Written procedures have not been developed for the following tasks:- the cleansing of skin and mucous membrane - application of antiseptic products - post-service care for personal services that involve puncturing the skin or mucous membraneREQUIREMENT: Complete the above written procedures.
    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • Paper towel was not available and not in a sutable dispenser.REQUIREMENT: Ensure a sanitary towel (i.e. paper towel) is available and contained in a suitable container (i.e. a container that prevents water and other contaminants from entering).
    • 10. Is cleansing and antisepsis of skin and mucous membrane performed in accordance to written procedures and are suitable products being used?
      • There wasn't a suitable antiseptic available to treat the skin prior to beginning an invasive procedure.REQUIRMENT: Obtain an antiseptic that contains a DIN/NPN and use it according to the manufacturer's instructions. Apply an antiseptic before an invasive procedure and after cleansing of the skin is complete.
    • 12. Are personal services workers at the facility maintaining client records and where applicable, sterility documentation corresponding to that client?
      • Client care record forms were not developed or available at the time of the inspection.REQUIREMENT: Ensure client care forms are retained and maintained as described in Section 3.62 - 3.65 of the Personal Service Regulation.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • There was no suitable disinfectant available to clean the client-contact surfaces and non-critical equipment (tattoo machine pen when wrapped properly). REQUIREMENT: Obtain a disinfectant that is suitable for the above.
