- Facility does not have written procedures for:- the cleansing of skin and mucous membrane - client care in the event of an accidental skin cut or puncture

- Foam files are being used on more than one client.Corrective Action:- Directed staff to discard single use foam files.- Moving forward, use foam files only once per every client.

- The high level disinfectant (PREempt CS20) usage and testing is not being logged. Corrective Action:- Ensure testing of the high level disinfectant (PREempt CS20) is recorded each day it is used.- Maintain records (log) for high level disinfectant that includes the date of tests, test strip results (pass/fail), dates when disinfectant was changed (for reuse period), and initials of personal services worker who performed the activity. (An AHS template for records (log) is publicly available for use).

- The two wax warmers have accumulated wax and residue on their surfaces.Corrective Action:- Clean and remove residue from surfaces.- Ensure these are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition.

- The pedicure foot bath surfaces and the removable magnetic impellers are being cleaned with soap and water, however, they are not being disinfected.Corrective Action:- Educated and advised manager regarding proper cleaning and disinfecting of the pedicure foot bath and removable magnetic impeller.- Disinfection with at minimum a low level disinfectant (such as the Lysol disinfectant on site) is required. (Recommended using an intermediate level disinfectant - such as PREempt RTU)

- 1- HLD was not being used according to manufacturer instruction for use. There was no records of pour dates of HLD. The records of HLD testing entered in the HLD log sheet were entered incorrectly. It appeared that the HLD was being used beyond 14 days re-use period.The HLD discarded and new HLD was poured in the dish during inspection, test conducted and made entry on the HLD testing log.
