Inspection summary
Ferraro Foods Deli has been inspected 15 times by Interior Health Authority since March 27, 2013. The most recent inspection, on May 23, 2025, found no infractions.
11 of 15 inspections on record found no infractions at all. No inspections are on record from the past 12 months. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Food temperature control, Cleaning and sanitizing and Pests.
The number of infractions per inspection has stayed roughly the same over time.
What these findings mean
Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.
Food temperature controlHigher risk
Bacteria multiply fastest between about 4 °C and 60 °C (40 °F to 140 °F). Inspectors check that cold food stays cold, hot food stays hot, cooked food is cooled quickly, and that staff have accurate thermometers. Temperature problems are one of the most common causes of food poisoning, so these are treated as critical findings.
Recorded 3 times across 3 separate inspections, most recently on September 5, 2024. For example:
2 Are proper temperature controls maintained to ensure safe storage and display of foods?
Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk
Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.
Recorded once on February 16, 2022. For example:
3 Are food contact surfaces, utensils and equipment washed and sanitized in a manner that removes/prevents contamination?
PestsHigher risk
Signs of mice, rats, cockroaches or flies, or gaps and clutter that let them get in or hide. Pests carry bacteria and can contaminate food and surfaces, so evidence of activity is treated seriously and usually triggers a follow-up visit.
Recorded once on August 18, 2021. For example:
2 Are proper pest control measures in place on the premises?
Other findingsLower risk
Findings that do not fit the categories above, such as follow-ups that confirm an earlier violation was corrected, or requirements specific to this type of facility.
Recorded once on February 16, 2022. For example:
1 Does the facility have proper monitoring supplies?

I live out of town and get to visit this store once a year.. I walk in with a big cooler box and shop til it’s full. So many goodies this trip.. their frozen pasta sauce is amazing.. the Italian sausages are the best money can buy. I got some unique pastas.. a cooler full of meat. Some cheeses.. incredibly priced all around. The staff were friendly and helpful while helping me check out. the only down side??? What to cook first!

The smoothie scanned $2 higher than the price shown on the shelf. Under Canada’s Scanner Price Accuracy Code (SCOP), items priced under $10 should be free when they scan incorrectly. Both the cashier and the store manager refused to honor this policy. The manager took my phone number on a piece of paper and said I would receive a call — I never did. I’m still waiting for a full refund of the $8.99. Very disappointing experience and poor customer service.

Absolutely love this store. Lots of great deals! BUT!!! do not let them bag your groceries. Management needs to give them a run down on why eggs and fresh berries don't go on the bottom. Every single time, you guys squish my stuff.

What an awesome shop, amazing selection of everything, great selection on meat and produce, some good options of non Americanized items and bulk items. Grabbed a few things from the bakery were unreal, all the staff we countered were friendly and happy.
