Fine Lines Hair

10504 30 Street NW Edmonton AB T5W 1V7 · Personal Services

Inspection summary

Fine Lines Hair has been inspected 2 times by Alberta Health Services (Environmental Public Health) since July 20, 2026. The most recent inspection, on September 23, 2026, found no infractions.

1 of 2 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there were 2 inspections with 3 infractions recorded. All recorded findings relate to upkeep, equipment or paperwork rather than direct infection-control risks to clients.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their findings differently, so we group them by what they mean for clients. In personal service settings like salons, spas and tattoo studios, higher-risk findings are the ones that could spread infection from one client to the next, through broken skin, blood or instruments that were not properly cleaned and sterilized.

  • Equipment and utensilsLower risk

Instruments, chairs, tables and footbaths must be made of materials that can be cleaned, kept in good repair and stored so they stay clean. Single-use items such as nail files, buffers, razors and needles must be thrown away after each client.

Recorded 2 times on July 20, 2026. For example: Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?

  • Permits, records and postingLower risk

Operating permits, client records, sterilization logs and required signage. Client records matter because they let health officials contact people if an infection is linked to the business.

Recorded once on July 20, 2026. For example: Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?

    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • Facility-specific written procedures were not present for accidental skin cuts, or for sink decontamination. The PHI trainee provided the operator with a template for the accidental skin cuts procedure onsite, and has provided the operator with a procedure for sink decontamination in the email attached to this report. Please ensure to clean and disinfect sinks with a low-level disinfectant (e.g., has a drug identification number [DIN], and a general disinfectant claim) according to the manufacturer's instructions any time the sink is used for different tasks (e.g., hand-washing, hair dying, hair shampooing, refilling barbicide, etc.).
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Reusable equipment such as clippers are disinfected properly (using clippercide), but the low-level disinfectant (Salon-care) used for other reusable tools (scissors, combs, etc.) did not have a drug identification number (DIN) showing it is approved for used by Health Canada. Please ensure that all disinfectants used have a DIN that indicates that they have been approved for use in Canada.
    • 30. Is the reprocessing area of a personal service facility that uses reusable equipment properly designed, managed and maintained to ensure the safety of clients?
      • While most reprocessing correctly occurs in a sink within the hair salon room, the kitchen sink is used for reprocessing bowls used for hairdyeing. The PHI trainee explained to the operator the public health significance of this, and the operator agreed with enthusiasm to switch to using the main hair salon room sink. Please make sure that reprocessing areas are separate from areas where eating, sleeping, or other incompatible processes may occur to protect products and tools from any contaminants.
