What these findings mean
Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.
Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk
Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.
Recorded once on June 2, 2015. For example:
8 - Are equipment, food contact surfaces and utensils washed, sanitized and stored in a manner that removes/prevents contamination?

Lots of sites, good amount of room, and mostly pull throughs. Lots of “rules” and signs that don’t make you feel very welcome (ex. feel free to use the toys or books, but don’t steal them). Can’t put out mats in the sites. There’s lots of grass but still track needles and dirt into the trailer. The store is amazing, with pretty much a little bit of everything! A bit of highway noise, but to be expected. Feels like it is in need of some updating. Don’t think we will come again, but if we needed a place to stay if we were passing through, it would be an option.

Very nice place but found that tenting cost per night is high. The reason I say this is, The huge downside to the tenting area is thats its right by the highway very close. Its very noisy through the night. Fair amount of truck traffic throught the night and early morning traffic. But other wise great place friendly staff. Spots are clean and tidy.

Wow I have not had such a combination of things to say about one place. Pool was down and according to locals it has been of a couple seasons, yet they still advertise it. I asked to talk to owner who tried to use covid as excuse to why pool was not open but the pool does not work anyways. I did camp at a lovely camp ground 10 minutes down the road with a working open pool the same day I spoke to the owner. The staff are not at all helpful, friendly but after talking with the owner I think I understand why. Double check their cancelation policy it is terrible. Sites are small with no space at all between trailers. It is extremely hot here with no way to cool down. In my opinion this is a buyer beware ask the questions, they want your money but don’t want to provide the services, or refund your hard earned money. The camp ground I stayed at was wonderful friendly clean best service in my opinion the only issue is that you can’t pre book site so you have to take the chance. It was not full when I was there. I highly recommend that you take the chance even if you have to go to another camp ground there are a few in the area. Frankly I would stay any where but fort Steele resort and rv park. PS Fort Steele is amazing and worth the visit awesome staff and great history here. Have a great summer I hope this saves a few people from a terrible experience. The good camp ground is called fort Steele campground

My aunt was staying out here for the weekend, we came by one night to visit. The owner came flying up to their site and proceeded to tie into me about parking. I asked 7 or 8 times where to park while she was losing it like a lunatic before she finally told me where to park then proceeded to tell my wife shes making a report. I would have gladly moved the car wherever she had said right away, but she decided to immediately come at us aggressively instead of asking nicely for us to move our car. Im not sure how she has any customers at all running around site to site giving everyone trouble. I’ll make sure to let everyone I know not to ever stay there.

The location is great. The staff inside the store was friendly. Ice cream is great. The washrooms and the swimming pool is in absolute disrepair. Hence why the low rating.
