Inspection summary

Frank Venables Theatre has been inspected 2 times by Interior Health Authority since April 4, 2023. The most recent inspection, on January 22, 2026, recorded 1 infraction.

1 of 2 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there was 1 inspection with 1 infraction recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Handwashing and staff hygiene.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.

  • Handwashing and staff hygieneHigher risk

Hands are the main way germs like norovirus move from people to food. Inspectors look for stocked, accessible handwashing sinks, staff washing hands when required, hair restraints, and sick employees being kept away from food. Gaps here can spread illness quickly.

Recorded once on January 22, 2026. For example: 7 Are there handwashing stations available and properly supplied?

Venables theatre in Oliver is a beautiful facility with excellent acoustics and sound system. Good parking. What a blast watching Electric Elton (Mar 2026). First time at this theatre. Tickets are fairly priced and seating is very good (no heads in front to block view). Decent time for intermission (not too long). Elton concert was vibrant with supporting band, and dancers (they were amazing). Videos in the background added interest to Electric Elton's singing. Well worth the drive from Osoyoos. We will be back!

I've lived here 4 years, and I've only been to this place twice, and both times in the last month. I've been missing out! The first time was for a drag show and the second for the Neil Diamond cover. This is an excellent venue! Though I felt the drag show was sub-par, the Neil Diamond show was excellent. All the staff were excellent and friendly and the seats were comfortable. I look forward to all the other shows we've bought tickets for!
