    I stopped by Freshii in Kelowna with a friend after we had been playing soccer for several hours. After working up an appetite, we were looking forward to a fresh, healthy meal. Instead, it ended up being one of the most disappointing meals we’ve had in a long time. The first thing I noticed was that my chicken was only lukewarm and tasted like it had been sitting around for quite a while rather than being freshly prepared. But the biggest problem by far was the vinegar. There was an unbelievable amount of it on my meal. Every single bite was overwhelmingly sour, to the point where I could barely taste any of the other ingredients. It completely drowned out every other flavor and made the meal almost impossible to enjoy. Unfortunately, my friend’s meal was just as bad. It had the same overpowering amount of vinegar, and he couldn’t finish his either. It honestly felt like someone had accidentally poured several times more vinegar than the recipe called for. We kept thinking the next bite might be better, but every bite was just as overpowering as the last. Neither of us could believe how much vinegar had been added. Amin was the employee working during our visit, and based on the quality of the food we received, I think that Amin would benefit from better training and stronger quality control. Whether it was an issue with food preparation or following the recipes, something clearly went wrong. Both of our meals were overwhelmed with vinegar and my chicken was only lukewarm. I hope management provides the team with the training and oversight needed to ensure meals are prepared consistently and meet the standard customers expect when they choose Freshii. We specifically chose Freshii because we wanted a healthy meal after hours of playing soccer, but we ended up wasting our money on food that neither of us could eat. We left disappointed and wishing we had gone somewhere else. Freshii promotes fresh, healthy food, but this experience was the complete opposite. I hope the restaurant improves its food preparation and quality control because, based on this visit, I won’t be returning and I wouldn’t recommend this location.
