   • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
     • Written procedure for client care in case of accidental cut and puncture was not available.The written procedure was reviewed with the operator.
   • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
     • The handwashing sink was not equipped with a sanitary option to dry hands.The operator was advised to have a sanitary option for drying hands.
   • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
     • - Disinfection records were not available. +Consultation was provided to keep disinfection records. HLD log was reviewed with the operator to ensure records are kept of: test dates, whether the solution passed/failed, when the disinfectant was changed and the worker’s initials who performed the activity.+A high level disinfectant was available for the disinfection of semi-critical equipment. The chemical was being tested daily, using appropriate test strips.+Non-critical equipment was being disinfected using an intermediate level disinfectant with a DIN.
   • 24. Are waste sharps disposed of properly?
     • -There was no lid on the puncture resistant container for the disposal of sharps. Please ensure an appropriate tight-fitted lid is available to appropriately seal the sharps container.
   • 30. Is the reprocessing area of a personal service facility that uses reusable equipment properly designed, managed and maintained to ensure the safety of clients?
     • - Work surface areas for contaminated equipment and/or cleaned equipment are not adequate. Ensure that adequate counter space is available for: the storage of unclean equipment and drying/disinfection of clean equipment.
