      • Ensure equipment is not used beyond the expiry date provided by the manufacturer. Expired items must be discarded appropriately.

      • Do not use expired disinfectants.
      • Dry equipment prior to disinfection to prevent diluting the disinfectant.
      • Rinse the disinfected equipment where manufacturer's instructions require or when bleach (sodium hypochlorite) is used.
      • Prepare a new bleach and water solution daily.
      • Ensure prepared disinfectant solutions are not topped up with fresh solution (i.e., do not add new solution to the current solution). Containers must be emptied, cleaned, disinfected, rinsed, and dried before refilling.
