What a clean record means

An inspection is a snapshot of a single day, so it is still worth checking the date of the latest visit.

My son has only been there 1 week and so far i have found staff very accomodating with his condition, treatments and visiting hours. It could be because there is a paper signed giving nurses and drs involved permission to discuss issues and treatment. I can only come at certain times because of mobility issues and they were most helpful and thoughtful in finding visiting times that worked with them and me

I was a patient at this puzzle factory back in 2021 & it was a nightmare. Being locked in your rooms, the staff, missing meds that purposely didn't get given to you by staff, getting punched in the face by another patient. I've just been asked if I'd like to go back and I almost went into shock. Never again would I set foot in this place or suggest anybody go there for care. It was horrendous. I'm not Dean, .u name is Cheryl

As the son of a patient currently at the Hillside Center, I am writing this review out of frustration, concern, and disappointment. My experience with this facility over the past several weeks has been extremely disheartening, and I feel compelled to share it so that other families know what they might be facing. It has now been over two weeks since I have been allowed to see my father, who is currently under psychiatric care at Hillside. During this entire time, the staff has made minimal effort to communicate with me or provide any updates regarding his condition, treatment plan, or overall well-being. I have made repeated phone calls and inquiries, and in return, I’ve received vague answers, deflections, or no response at all. What’s worse is the complete lack of transparency. I understand and respect the importance of patient confidentiality, but there is a basic standard of decency and professionalism that requires at least keeping family members informed—especially when they are listed as an emergency contact or point of support. Not knowing how my father is doing or why I am being denied visitation has caused immense emotional distress for myself and other family members. To add to the frustration, there has been no clear explanation for the restrictions on visits. If there are legitimate reasons, they haven’t been communicated clearly or compassionately. It feels like I am being kept in the dark while my father is isolated and potentially struggling alone, which is incredibly painful. This kind of negligent communication and lack of family involvement is unacceptable for any healthcare facility—especially a psychiatric hospital, where loved ones can play such a crucial role in the healing process. I urge Hillside Center’s administration to reflect on how they treat the families of patients. Mental health care should be rooted in compassion, collaboration, and communication, and unfortunately, that has not been my experience here.

Was absolutely tortured by staff and patients here. Do not ever go here.

I was patient at this facility and explained my situation to the staff. They have a record of what my dilemma was. I am having the same dilemma in Saskatoon and I'm in deep trouble
