4409 Lakeshore Rd Kelowna BC V1W 1W7 · Child Care - Licensing

Inspection summary

Lakeshore Out of School Care has been inspected 5 times by Interior Health Authority since April 10, 2017. The most recent inspection, on June 12, 2025, found no infractions.

4 of 5 inspections on record found no infractions at all. No inspections are on record from the past 12 months. All recorded findings relate to upkeep, equipment or paperwork rather than direct health risks.

The last 4 inspections in a row found no infractions. The number of infractions per inspection has stayed roughly the same over time.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their findings differently, so we group them by what they mean for the people in care. Higher-risk findings are the ones that could directly make someone sick, and they matter more here because young children, older adults and people who are unwell are more vulnerable to infection.

  • Equipment and utensilsLower risk

Equipment has to be made of cleanable materials, kept in good repair and stored properly. These findings are mostly about upkeep, like a cracked surface or worn part. They are generally lower risk but show how well the place is maintained.

Recorded once on April 10, 2017. For example: 2 - Is there adequate and appropriate indoor and outdoor space, materials, and equipment?

    • C7.2 - Is there adequate and appropriate indoor and outdoor space, materials, and equipment?
      • Observation(s): It was observed that children were playing in the entrance and cubby area of the facility. The manager had stated this area was off limits and not a play area. The staff eventually asked children to move into the facility, however one child was observed laying on the floor there later. The manager stated that a couch was recently purchased but still in storage area in a box which was not accessible. On return the next day both the large barn and small barn facilities have the new couches available for children to use. This was corrected during the inspection. This facility uses public play spaces away from the facility. A regular play space safety check is completed.
      • C7.2E - Ensure that all indoor and outdoor materials and equipment are safely constructed, free from hazards, in good repair and suitable for the age and development of children; 16( 4 )(a)(b)
