      • A pair of tweezers used for waxing were found to be dirty. Operator cleaned and disinfected them during the inspection. Ensure all tools in wax room are properly cleaned and disinfected and store in a manner that prevents them from being re-contaminated after cleaning and disinfection.

      • 1. Cleaned and disinfected foot files are placed into side compartments of cloth tool bag. The cloth tool bag is not regularly cleaned and disinfected. Please ensure all semi-critical equipment including foot files is stored in cleaned container until used on client. 2. Staff food was being stored around reprocessing area in back. Please re-organize so that staff are not eating or storing food in reprocessing area.

      • No written procedures were available on-site. Complete written procedures for:-accidental skin cut and puncture-cleansing of skinEnsure staff have access to them.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1. Staff were using alcohol to disinfect semi critical equipment (nail clippers, cuticle pushers etc). A high level disinfectant such as CS20 or HLD5 must be used for semi critical equipment. Use HLD5 available on-site for this. 2. HLD5 was expired. Obtain high level disinfect that is not expired. 3. Staff were using a lysol cleaner for non-critical surfaces (chairs, desks etc). Ensure a low level disinfectant with a DIN is used for these surfaces. Lysol disinfectant and wipes were available on-site.
