Inspection summary
Lonsdale BridgeDeck Kitchen & Taps has been inspected 9 times by Vancouver Coastal Health since August 28, 2020. The most recent inspection, on July 9, 2026, found no infractions.
5 of 9 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there were 2 inspections with 0 infractions recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Cleaning and sanitizing and Handwashing and staff hygiene.
The last 3 inspections in a row found no infractions. Recent inspections have recorded fewer infractions than earlier ones, so the record is improving.
What these findings mean
Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.
Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk
Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.
Recorded 3 times across 3 separate inspections, most recently on May 9, 2025. For example:
All equipment, food contact surfaces, utensils, dishes & glasses used on the premises are washed and sanitized in a manner that removes contamination.
Handwashing and staff hygieneHigher risk
Hands are the main way germs like norovirus move from people to food. Inspectors look for stocked, accessible handwashing sinks, staff washing hands when required, hair restraints, and sick employees being kept away from food. Gaps here can spread illness quickly.
Recorded once on August 29, 2020. For example:
Each employee demonstrates good personal hygiene and washes their hands as often as necessary to prevent the contamination of food.
Building, plumbing and upkeepLower risk
Floors, walls and ceilings must be smooth and clean, with working lighting, ventilation, plumbing, hot and cold water, and washrooms. These are rarely an immediate food-safety risk on their own, but persistent problems can lead to pest or sanitation issues.
Recorded 6 times on August 28, 2020. For example:
Maximum number of patrons that can be accommodated on the premises has been determined
Permits, records and postingLower risk
Operating permits, required signage, written procedures and logs. These findings are administrative: the documentation was missing or out of date at the time of inspection.
Recorded 3 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on August 29, 2020. For example:
The Permit to Operate a food service establishment is valid and is posted in a conspicuous location.
Food safety training and certificationLower risk
Most jurisdictions require a certified food handler or manager on site, and some require allergen or food-worker training. These findings mean the paperwork or the trained person was missing at the time. They do not by themselves mean food was handled unsafely.
Recorded once on August 28, 2020. For example:
Reservation contact information is kept for 30 days: First name, last name, and phone number or email of at least one member of every party

I come here about once a week and always have a great experience. The server is very friendly and the service is excellent. I especially love the yam fries and the salad — they are delicious! This was my first time trying the dessert, and it was delicious too. Highly recommend!

Incredible little place. Cozy, very personable atmosphere! The French onion burger was absolutely UNREAL. Possibly the best burger I’ve ever had. Pulled pork grilled cheese was amazing too. And the fries!!! All around fabulous. Love it. 👌

Good beers (Back in my day - my favourite) and excellent quality food with cheerful service. I particularly liked the sockeye salmon burger which was served "open", with the warm salmon on one half and the cold, crispy salad items on the other half. (Nothing worse than soggy, warm lettuce in my view). And the yam fries were the crispest I have tasted (difficult to avoid yam fries being soggy). Glad to see standards high at one of my favourite drinking places in North Vancouver.

They always have the kind of servers here that make you wanna come back. Particularly Luke’s kindness, care and attention to detail really made me feel special and most importantly taken care of. As a person who has 19+ years in hospitality these are the folks who embody the art of service. Thanks Luke!
