    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • **CORRECTED**1. Staff said they were leaving nail tools in CS20 high level disinfectant for 5 - 10 minutes. Staff informed tools must be left in the disinfectant for at least 20 minutes to ensure bacteria is killed. 2. The CS20 high level disinfectant that was in the white soak tray was tested with the available 7% Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide test strips, however, the test strips did not change colour within 35 seconds indicating that it was not strong enough for disinfecting reusable nail tools. The solution was discarded during the inspection.3. There was not enough CS20 high level disinfectant in the white soak try so that the reusable nails tools were covered and could be adequately disinfected. The solution was discarded during the inspection and soak tray refilled with enough fresh CS20 so that tools were covered.

      • 1. Staff could not find the high-level disinfectant records during the inspection.COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:1. Daily tests of the CS20 high level disinfectant must be recorded in the high-level disinfectant log sheet.2. Keep high-level disinfectant log sheet posted at the cleaning and disinfecting sink. Records must be kept for at least 2 years.
