Nail Block Bar

110 - 14101 West Block Drive NW Edmonton AB T5N 1L5 · Personal Services

Inspection summary

Nail Block Bar has been inspected 3 times by Alberta Health Services (Environmental Public Health) since January 24, 2024. The most recent inspection, on May 7, 2025, recorded 1 infraction.

1 of 3 inspections on record found no infractions at all. No inspections are on record from the past 12 months. All recorded findings relate to upkeep, equipment or paperwork rather than direct infection-control risks to clients.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their findings differently, so we group them by what they mean for clients. In personal service settings like salons, spas and tattoo studios, higher-risk findings are the ones that could spread infection from one client to the next, through broken skin, blood or instruments that were not properly cleaned and sterilized.

  • Equipment and utensilsLower risk

Instruments, chairs, tables and footbaths must be made of materials that can be cleaned, kept in good repair and stored so they stay clean. Single-use items such as nail files, buffers, razors and needles must be thrown away after each client.

Recorded 2 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on May 7, 2025. For example: Is reusable equipment handled and stored properly (Critical)?

  • Food safety training and certificationLower risk

Some jurisdictions require operators to complete infection-prevention training, or to hold specific qualifications for higher-risk services such as tattooing, piercing or electrolysis. These findings mean the training record was missing at the time. They do not by themselves mean a client was put at risk.

Recorded 2 times on January 24, 2024. For example: Has the operator notified the RHA of the existence of a personal service business, including contact and location information, as well as all personal services currently offered or new personal services that will be offered for facilities and/or special events?

  • Permits, records and postingLower risk

Operating permits, client records, sterilization logs and required signage. Client records matter because they let health officials contact people if an infection is linked to the business.

Recorded once on January 24, 2024. For example: Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?

  • Other findingsLower risk

Findings that do not fit the categories above, such as follow-ups that confirm an earlier violation was corrected, or requirements specific to this type of facility.

Recorded once on January 24, 2024. For example: Are waste sharps disposed of properly?
