    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • Written procedures for cleansing of skin and client care in case of accidental cut and puncture were not available.The written procedures were reviewed with the operator.
    • 15. Is reusable equipment handled and stored properly (Critical)?
      • During the inspection, Cleaned Items were found on the cleaning table after washing in the ultrasonic cleaner. Ensure all cleaned items are stored in sanitary manners.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • - Semi-critical equipment is not being fully immersed in the high-level disinfectant during the disinfection process. Ensure equipment is fully immersed in the high-level disinfectant.- Disinfection records were not available. Ensure records are kept of: test dates, whether the solution passed/failed, when the disinfectant was changed and the worker’s initials who performed the activity.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • -Pre-empt CS20 (a high-level disinfectant) was being used to disinfect hard and non-porous surfaces.-Pre-empt RTU (an intermediate-level disinfectant) was being used to disinfect semi-critical tools.-Test strips were available.The operator was advised to use Pre-empt RTU to disinfect hard and non-porous surfaces and to use Pre-empt CS20 to disinfect semi-critical tools. The operator was also advised to always read the labels carefully and follow manufacturer's instructions.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • Several bottles in the pedicure stations were not labeled.Ensure all the bottles are labeled correctly.
