      • At the time of the inspection, the PHI observed that the servers were handling cash and serving food without washing their hands between these tasks or customers. Staff members were observed to use alcohol-based hand rub / hand sanitizer on their hands after handling money.Food handlers are to thoroughly wash their hands before commencing work, or after any other activity or instance where hands may become soiled. A lack of appropriate handwashing practice poses a risk of potentially contaminating foods or food areas / equipment in the commercial facility.Ensure that handwashing occurs wash hands as often as necessary to prevent the contamination of food or food areas. Alcohol-based hand rub / hand sanitizer is not a replacement for handwashing.

      • At the time of the inspection, the commercial kitchen's handwashing sink was occupied by containers/equipment and could not be accessed for handwashing.Staff later cleaned the items occupying the sink basin, making it possible to wash their hands at the station.Ensure that access to the handwashing station is not impeded and that the station is fully stocked to allow for handwashing practices to occur.

      • At the time of the inspection, the PHI observed that the server was both handling cash and serving food without washing their hands between these tasks or customers. A paper towel was being used to wrap ice cream cones when handling and handing to customers. A lack of appropriate handwashing practice poses a risk of potentially contaminating foods or food areas / equipment in the commercial facility.The server was reminded during the inspection that handwashing is to occur when changing between incompatible tasks that may potentially contaminate food or food areas / equipment.
