      • No written procedures for the following tasks:-the cleansing of skin and mucous membrane -client care in the event of an accidental skin cut or puncture -decontamination of any sink that will be used for both handwashing and equipment reprocessingProvide written procedures for the following issues.
    • 13. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Critical)?
      • Single use toe separators were being reused. Used toe separators were found in the laundry basket and in the pedicure drawer.Discard single use toe separators after each use.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1) Again, operator was using 70% alcohol to disinfect the manicure and pedicure tools and waxing tools such as nail cuticle, nail drill bits, nail scissor and lashes tweezer. 70% alcohol was instructed to the operator that it was not acceptable in 2022.A full unopen bottle of high-level disinfectant, PREempt cs20 was expired since July 4, 2023.2) The foot tubs were not disinfected properly after cleaning. 3) The waxing table was not disinfected after each client. A bottle of unopen surface disinfectant PREempt RTU was expired since January 2024.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • 1) Waxing tables were covered with dirty plastic on one end. Remove the plastic and clean and disinfect the table after each client.2) Dust and nail polish on the manicure tables. Clean the manicure tables.3) Wax on the waxing table wall and hair and wax on the box by the waxing table. Clean these areas.
    • 30. Is the reprocessing area of a personal service facility that uses reusable equipment properly designed, managed and maintained to ensure the safety of clients?
      • Semi critical tools such as clippers, tweezers etc....were cleaned in the washroom handwash sink.Clean the semi critical tools in a processing sink by the pedicure chair.
