      • Observation(s): Laundry room in lower level does not have a slip resistant floor surface.
      • R7.2R - Laundry facilities must have a slip resistant floor surface if used by persons in care; 35( 2 )(a)
    • R7.1 - Are the physical facility, equipment and furnishings maintained, sanitary, accessible and appropriate for persons in care?
      • Observation(s): Damage to walls on main floor noted, including in hallways, dining room and bedrooms. Flooring throughout the main level was refinished however is lifting throughout and temporary tape is in place to prevent tripping hazards.

      • Observation(s): Residents' Bill of Rights not posted in prominent place in facility at time of inspection.
      • RB1.19A - Display the rights of adult persons in care in a form and manner acceptable to the minister.
    • R1.1 - Does the Licensee operate in accordance with their license and inform Licensing of any significant changes?
      • Observation(s): The Residents' Bill of Rights was not posted in a prominent place in the facility at time of inspection.
      • R1.1Y - Display the rights of adult persons in care in a prominent place and in a form acceptable to the minister; Act 7( 1 )(c.1)(i)(ii)
    • R7.1 - Are the physical facility, equipment and furnishings maintained, sanitary, accessible and appropriate for persons in care?
      • Observation(s): During physical inspection cleaning products were found to be accessible under kitchen sinks (upstairs and downstairs). Please ensure these products are made inaccessible to ensure the safety of all persons in care. Furnace room was found to be unlocked at time of inspection. Systems must be implemented to prevent persons in care from having access to hazardous/unsafe items. These systems must also be monitored to ensure continued compliance.

    • 7.1 Are the physical facility, equipment and furnishings maintained, sanitary, accessible and appropriate for persons in care?
      • Observation(s): One nail was protruding from a deck board in the outdoor lounge area. Nail was removed by staff at time of the visit. Sharp knives were noted to be stored in an unlocked drawer in the downstairs kitchen area. These were removed during inspection.

      • Observation(s): Person in care's nutritional care plans have not been reviewed or updated within the past year (date on the most recent update was March 2014). This infraction is reoccurring (noted on the January 22, 2014 inspection).
      • Develop a nutrition plan for each person in care and review the plan on a regular basis (Applies to a facility with 24 or fewer persons in care); 83( 1 )(a)( 3 )(a)
