    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • 1. Missing hand soap by the hand washing basin in the treatment room. PLEASE PROVIDE HAND SOAP.
    • 17. Is reusable equipment cleaned properly (Critical)?
      • 1. Tweezers are wiped with alcohol wipe as the cleaning step prior to disinfection.ALL REUSABLE SEMI-CRITICAL ITEMS MUST BE SCRUBBED CLEAN WITH DETERGENT AND WATER, RINSED AND DRIED PRIOR TO DISINFECTION.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1. The Oligio and Shurink applicators are disinfected with alcohol after each client use. The alcohol wipes do not have a Drug Identification Number which means it is not approved by Health Canada as a disinfectant. PLEASE OBTAIN APPROPRIATE DISINFECTANT. 2. The CS20 solution is changed every two to three days. But there is no test strip to verify that the concentration was adequate for reuse. PLEASE OBTAIN APPROPRIATE TEST STRIP TO TEST THE HIGH LEVEL DISINFECTANT PRIOR TO EACH DAILY USE. RECORD RESULTS ONTO THE PROVIDED MONITORING LOG.
