    • The setting and surfaces are clean and in good repair.
    • Sharps are disposed of in an approved sharps container.
      • Dispose of sharps into an approved sharps container immediately after use.
      • Provide sharps containers in accessible locations at every point of use in the service area.
      • Sharps containers must be in compliance with CSA Standards.
      • Seal and replace sharps container when the contents reach the marked fill line, or the container is three-quarters (3/4) full.
      • Dispose of sharps container in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Protection Act, its regulations, and any other applicable law of Ontario.
    • All reusable equipment is cleaned and disinfected or sterilized as often as necessary to prevent disease transmission.
    • Disinfectants are approved and used appropriately.
    • All sharps and single-use critical equipment are sterile and discarded immediately after use
      • Discard sharps immediately after use.
