    • 04. Does the operator use approved methods for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and surfaces?
      • The chlorine spray measured >200 ppm (rebleached the test strip) and was diluted during the inspection to 200 ppm. For a food safe sanitizer, mix 1/2 teaspoon of bleach per litre of water.
    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • Facility is down to one paper towel roll; please obtain more paper towel so all hand sinks are fully stocked. The washroom requires cleaning.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • A weather strip was added to the bay door. Minor mouse droppings noted under the bathroom sink and hand sink. We discussed properly cleaning the droppings.

      • There were no paper towels at the sink. Operator brought a roll over during inspection. Please ensure that a paper towel holder is installed in a way that is easily accessible to people using the hand sink.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • There were mouse droppings under the small sink and in the furnace room. A gap along the bay door is present as the floor is not even. Owner stated they will connect with the landlord.Discussed cleaning mouse droppings safely.Mouse droppings were present throughout the back area of the facility including in the small sink as well as evidence of nests present. - 28/4/2025

      • The deep freeze in the meat cutting area was observed to have discarded food debris, soiled cardboard, and grime build-up on the inside. Please ensure that the inside and outside of the deep freeze is cleaned and sanitized to prevent cross-contamination from occurring.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • The back rooms of the facility were disorganized, with some areas being unreachable.Please ensure that the indicated area is kept organized and free of debris so that it can be easily cleaned and to discourage the harbourage of pests.
