      • The reprocessing sink in the main room is also being used for handwashing. Please dedicate the sink for reprocessing only and use the washroom sink for hand washing.Nov 6, 2024: The sink was still supplied with soap and hand towels for hand washing. Discussed the concern again.

      • Single use nail files were observed at two of the manicure stations. Discarded during the inspection.A wooden applicator was in the wax pot. Wooden applicators are single use only. Discarded during inspection.
    • 17. Is reusable equipment cleaned properly (Critical)?
      • Biofilm observed on the inside of one of pedicure basin the magnetic jet covers. The jet must be properly disassembled to clean and disinfect.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Semi-critical esthetic tools are not adequately being disinfected between use. No solution was dispensed and the jar the operator indicated was used for disinfecting implements was too small for the larger implements. Preempt CS20 was available onsite, and a disinfectant tray box (in the original box) was available onsite. Ensure reusable esthetics tools are fully immersed in the Preempt CS20 high level disinfectant following cleaning. Preempt CS20 solution must be tested daily with test strips and the results recorded. Expired bottles of Accel TB were observed onsite and the operator indicated they were using alcohol and acetone as a surface disinfectant. Obtain at minimum a low-level disinfectant or an intermediate level disinfectant that is designed for disinfecting pedicure basins.Semi-critical esthetic tools are not adequately being disinfected between use. No solution was dispensed and the jar the operator indicated was used for disinfecting implements was too small for the larger implements.
